My refrigerator has a water filter built in and I also have a Brita system. The meter works great but it shows 167 ppm dissolved solids. I raise carnivorous plants and water this high in dissolved solids will kill my plants. This meter allowed me to quickly test different water filtration systems. Note: I bought a Zero water system. It was the only one that removed all dissolved minerals. My plants are happy now.

Just make sure you don’t wet the tester (the part that isn’t supposed to wet.) in the running water. We made that mistake. The probe stop responding. No TDS reading, can’t change mode, and couldn’t turn off. We thought it died. Thankfully it came back. We won’t dare to take short cuts anymore.

This works very well. I appreciate knowing the quality of my water, took it too a local water store to be tested to see the accuracy, and it was correct. Like how easy this is to use it very easy to read.

I wasn't sure about this at first, until I started regularly using it. This ended up being extremely accurate at a relatives house, which resulted in the water company that supplies her water coming out, doing their own water test, and resolving some major quality issues with her water. This was very close to their professional equipment both before and after they repaired the water line contaminating her water. For the money, this is totally worth buying and keeping handy.

Just got delivered and suspect our water was acidic. Faucet water is 6.7 from averaging readings as it changes every second and doesn't just stop on a #. Filtered fridge water is 6.3, again guessing. I wish it just finalized a number. Swirling it causes numbers to change but just resting it in the cup does the same. I like the digital readout. And directions for calibrating when needed altho lengthy I hope makes sense when the time comes. Giving it 3 stars due to the inconsistency of readout and guessing where it actually is.

it comes with all the bonuses as a expensive water tester, only sometimes looses its accuracy, but otherwise with proper maintenance and use it works impeccably.

I purchased this for my travel, its super small, place it in your suitcase, the probe is easy to clean and seems pretty accurate. You can see if your water filter is actually working or not. This does a great job testing the water hardness and drinkability level. There is a chart on the back of the device and the LED display is bright and easy to read (ppm) is parts per million btw. It's interesting testing distilled beverages to see how pure they are compared to water. In any case if you want to make sure water is as clean as possible this digital tester does it.

Bought with the description of newest version (2024) but disappointed with the usability and quality. no scale printed on device, so you have to remember what a good number is. Doesn't come with LR44x2 battery, so you will need to purchase it separately.
