This is my first computer that I built and after long time of research, I went with the brand new 9900X and I had no problems at all. I built my pc back in august 2024 and this cpu is amazing. It is plenty fast and did not run into any issue setting it up. The temps are also amazing. Stress testing it with cinebench, the temps are just under 76C which is very cool. As for the 7000 series cpus, based on other people's testing, they were at like 95C. The 9900X low temps with excellent performance was why I went with this cpu. I'm so glad I did.

Since it is difficult to obtain the X3D model, I chose this model with its high basic CPU performance. The TDP is 120W and it can be used stably, including cooling.

After 6 years of using an Intel processor, I've switched back to AMD. I think they are superior products personally and this one is quick!

I love this cou and it is great for people who do things other than gaming but still game. Like I do CAD work, photography stuff, and gaming and it handles everything I throw at it wonderfully.

In moving to this AMD, it significantly decreased the number of cores that I had available. The built in power management works instead of causing damage to my chip like it did on my old processor. I can play games and it only drops out and errors occasionally from some game bug instead of just dropping out with a root memory error. I can run Blender without my computer going into blue screens. The memory runs at optimal speeds without write errors. I'm confident of the performance of this chip and its ability to run the software I use daily.

Runs well if you have a good fan or liquid cooling, otherwise awesome

Made the jump from AM4 to AM5 motherboard along with PCIE 5 NVME and updated RAM. Using closed loop water cooling and radiator cooling for NVME achieved both speed and power. Awesome performance.

Planned to buy another AMD 7900 to use in my backup server. The 9900X was only $14.56 more, so I bought it just to compare with my 7900. I'm not a gamer, do mostly 3D modeling, rendering, photo and video editing. The 7900 is great when tweaked with PBO in the BIOS. Got the 9900X yesterday afternoon, and PBO tweaked it to compare. Put it in the work computer, using the same motherboard, video card, memory and AIO. Some large differences between the 2 using AIDA64 benchmark software. The integer benches are slightly better with the 9900X, however with floating point benchmarks it screams! Especially Ray-Tracing. Same amount of cache memory in each, but the 9900X has a much faster cache. The 9900X (120W) idles about 3° C warmer due the higher base frequency. It doesn't run quite as hot under full load as the 7900 (65w). This one's staying in the work computer and the 7900 will get a new home in the backup server.

I purchased a 9900X ASUS X870E ProArt Mobo and a Noctua NH-D15 G2 cooler and I do a lot of video encoding with Handbrake, also anyone reading this review that has never used AMD make sure to get Ram that use's Hynix memory such as G.Skill or Team Group and 6000 with a CL30 to Cl32 at the highest,AMD CPU's I have found work best with Hynix Ram and tight timing such as CL30 or CL32,the Flare X5 is really good and cheaper Ram. My stock temps were 70C when running Handbrake to encode video,Handbrake will put more stress on your CPU then what a game will for sure. To get my 9900X running cooler I just went into the Bios under PBO Precision Boost Overdrive and lower my PPT/TDC/EDC to get my temps down a lot and hardly hurt my performance at all, when doing what I'm describing by adjust PPT all your doing is lowering the total amount of Watts the CPU can get at under 100% load. These are the stock settings for the 9900X's stock power settings. PPT 162 EDC180 TDC120 My Bios settings are. PPT135 EDC165 TDC105 What you want to do is start with m numbers and adjust from there is wanted, you want to run HWinfo64 in sensors mode only and watch the EDC and TDC numbers when running Handbrake and it's a free program, you want the EDC and TDC to be at 75 to 80% maxed out when running Handbrake so they have a bit of headroom, there's no such thing as headroom for PPT because whether it's set at 88Watts or the 162Watts and you run a program like Handbrake the PPT will always be at 100% according to whatever Watts it's set at. I was able to get my temps down to 55C is where it runs at most times and the odd time it gets to 58C depending on the video file type I'm encoding, when running at 55C that's a 16C difference from with an air cooler. I was getting 1108FPS encoding speeds with stock Bios settings and EXPO1 enabled and with my Bios settings I get 1083FPS with EXPO1 enabled as well,it takes about 3 to 7 seconds longer to encode a 40 to 48 minute video with my settings over stock. I changed my Bios settings because I wanted to run an air cooler and not have to worry about running a liquid cooler,I know the AIO's are made pretty well but I don't want to be the poor sap that has his AIO leak and fry my expensive PC.

Inget paket lämnades utanför dörren? Är det lämnat på fel adress? Min larmkamera visar inget besök nämnda tid. Frågan är, var är paketleveransen?? Vad händer med beställningen?

This is a great CPU for all round performance offering performance CPU with 12 cores and 24 threads including an integrated GPU so you will not need a graphics card for every day computing, however if you want to do video editing , graphics work or gaming then you will need a dedicated graphic card. I choose to couple the CPU with an AMD graphics card , however there are many other manufacturers to choose from. I got this for a good price , not the cheapest , however buying though Amazon give you a bit more security. I certainly recommend this CPU, however for the pure gamers or high spec performance look at the 3D variants to, e.g AMD 7800 3D for example.
