I can't believe that I haven't reviewed this Echo Dot yet (I've had it nearly 2 years now!). In short, I love it. It's attractive and unobtrusive, fits easily on a desk or nightstand, and has an easily readable (for me) display. It displays the time normally, and if you have a playlist going it will scroll the name of the song and artist. Pair it with the phone app and I can control multiple devices (thermostat, smart plugs, smart bulb) with either the app or my voice. I can set alerts, reminders, and alarms. I can also ask for news or weather reports, or just play around with quiz games and trivia. I bought this on sale 2 years ago for a great price, with an included smart bulb. I probably would not have purchased it without that sale, but I'm glad I did.

I love it! There’s an app with it, so make sure you set it up right away. There are several add ons that are free to install, and you can play music from it constantly without worrying if it’s gonna die and where the rechargeable cord is, because you plug it in! You can mute it, turn it off, and turn the volume up and down with the buttons on the top. The price is perfect and it’s wicked loud (on full volume which can be set in the app) and it sounds great. I like the morning routine that it offers the best and of course that I can play iHeart radio all day long for free. I also have a smaller dot for the kitchen. There’s also a “play xxxxx everywhere” and it will sync with the other one I have and play whatever music I selected. You can shut it off when you want quietness. It doesn’t have a battery life as it plugs in! :) Easy to use and easy to set up the app.

I've been using my echo-dot for 7 months already. Until 2 weeks ago its functionality was great. Then it started getting "stuck" on yellow-ring mode and Alexa would not respond. Device said there was no wi-fi connection (not true). I had to unplug it (still no resolve) and after several re-starting attempts, the issue got solved for a day. Until it went back to freeze-mode. That's why I'm only giving it 4 Stars. Other than that it's a great device to have. Clear music sound, awesome features, good value for money.

I like the music playback, it's aswome I like it as it is easy to use It's as it's build in timer can display on the face of it. I like it compatibility, it works with any phone. It's very controllable. By it's epic voice command. I also get value for my money.

This was an additional Echo product to all the other I have. I need a device that you could easy see at night, but did not want a Echo show for that room. The Echo Dot fit the bill, and as with all Echo products it easily installed.
