Customers appreciate the leather paint's color, durability, and ease of application. They find it works well for small areas and provides a nice, even cover after applying about 3 layers. Many say it doesn't crack or run when wet, flake or peel off, and holds up to being sat on, slept on, cats being on it, and 60lb mutts. The paint is easy to apply and dries quickly. However, opinions vary on the color match and value for money.

I should have taken before/after pics of my couch but I forgot! We have a grey leather couch, one we thought was all leather. Turns out parts are leather and parts are not. The parts that were not leather started to delaminate all of a sudden and looked horrible. I watched some Youtube channel that suggested using these leather paints to paint over the parts that were delaminated. I figured for the price of these paints it couldn't hurt to try and wouldn't make it look any worse than it did. I am happy to report it did fabulously! I had to order a few colors and mix them together (trial and error) to get the right shade to match our couch. I just used a small glass dish, poured the paints in and mixed them together, tested, adjusted colors, etc. It was SUPER EASY to do. This is not creating new leather, but because it is paint that is suitable to paint onto leather, it dries flexible. This is what makes it good to cover spots where the material has delaminated. Tips: peel off ALL flaking pieces of the material, even if it makes a larger bare spot. Paint a layer using a small "artist" style brush, so you have more control over where it goes. Let the layer dry before adding a new a layer. My first layer really kind of soaked into the fuzzy fabric, but other layers did just fine. I added about 5 or 6 layers. I waited several hours or overnight, mostly because I had to order new colors to try to make a better match. I think layers of some colors that were close but not quite kind of added some depth, since our couch is not a single shade of grey. Final layer add a top coat (matte, satin, or gloss). This one needs to dry overnight. End result, the bare patches are totally covered. Have withstood our dog laying on top of it (top of the couch). From a short distance, blends right in. You would not notice it unless you were looking for it. It feels rougher to the touch, but I will take that for a $30 fix over a $3000 replacement.

I've been looking for a pair of white closed toe sandals that I liked and were comfortable for a couple of years. I just found a pair of Korks (which I love) here on Amazon and thought they were light enough that I should be able to get them "dyed" white. Not long after I received them, I started looking through the site to see if there was a way I could color them. First I thought of white shoe polish, but the only white shoe polishes they have are to help bring back the whiteness in already white shoes. I saw this Angelus Acrylic Paint and read the reviews. Everyone noted that it covered well and was easy to use. I figured I'd give it a try as the worst thing that could happen was it didn't work and I'd have to take them to a local shoe shop to have them "dye" them for me. Let me first say I am neither a painter nor an artistic person. I can paint a wall, but who can't (ha ha)! I purchased the paint in white as well as ordering their Acrylic Finisher and an inexpensive pack of sponge brushes. As you can see....IT WORKED!!!! I finally have a pair of white closed toe sandals that are really comfortable and I love. The painting was easy and after letting them sit for a couple of days I applied the finisher to give them a little shine and to seal and protect the paint. Clean up was a breeze with a little running water in the sink. I couldn't be more happy. Believe me, if I can do it ANYONE can!!!!! As an FYI, I gave the "sheerness" one star as the paint isn't supposed to be sheer -- it's supposed to cover the leather and make it white! If I ever have another home project or have a friend who does Angelus paint is the product I'm going to use and recommend. So thankful for a great American made product!

MAIN REVIEW I ordered 2 of these in flat black (which is matte black) to touch up some of my HWK leather brando jacket. This is a bit more flat than the original HWK finish but people will not know immediatelly at first glance. Only at closer look one sees a difference in shine on the touched up spots. Otherwise this is supposed to be the best brand leather paint and it sticks till date very well. I tested it now for about a week and it holds strong. I painted a spot on my aluminum flashlight and after a few days it starts now to peel off. But I am impressed since it still stuck to the aluminum. I did not pre prepare the leather jacked to paint/touch up. Without preparation at all, even without cleaning it stuck immediatelly without any problems. After about 1 hour it is dry enough and you can use it. It says however not to bend the paint, meaning not to use it, before 48 hours. So this is flatter or duller than the colour you see on the black HWK leather jackets. These jackets however "lose" their finish on high rubbing spots and need to be touched up. Just paint it over and let it dry. It paints over the existing finish as well without any problems. To me the price is a bit high. I hope this paint does not dry up over time. This is supposedly the best brand leather paint you can get for any leather work on the market. This paint does not crack and it is kind of an thick layer. For these particular leather jackets I have maybe the regular black would match as well. But rather to have more shiny spots more dull spots are maybe the best option to match the original colour. It adjusts good to the contour of the leather applied on. To me an 32 oz bottle should cost this price of this 4 oz bottle of 18 US$. Flat black is most likely the best alternative for an black colour since it gives allmost no shine and is pretty flat but still there is a little light reflection (shine). This flat black will give your leather an genuine leather appearance while the standard black will give the leather an artificial black chinese made shiny appearance. I recommend for touching up your valuable leather jacket but for use en masse on leather work this paint is to expensive since you use lots of paint per covered aerea. For the price this has you will use it only on high value objects like leather jackets, leather mantles (trench coats), expensive shoes, etc. and not ordinary objects.
