We have a van camper that's short on storage and I’ve bought a succession of camping chairs in the last few years trying to find just the right one. After some swings and misses, I decided to try one of the much publicized Cliq chairs when I saw one on Amazon that was “used – like new“. What the heck? It was about 80 bucks and worth giving a shot. It arrived looking like it had never been used or opened, and although it’s pretty heavy, the engineering is really impressive. Easy to pop out, solid to sit in, a good sitting angle (which not all of these type of chairs are), not too low to the ground for seniors like us, and sturdy front legs with the right angle to push and stand up (a lot of the ultra-lightweight backpacking chairs are tip-prone when trying to stand). I’m 5‘3“ and I was comfortable, so I got a second one for my husband who is 6‘2“ - he thought it was relatively comfortable, too. (NB: I also got two Cliq Lounges for us. They are similarly easy to deploy and solid and relatively comfortable for what they are, but the chairs are a better solution if you just want to pull your camper over, take a couple of chairs out to enjoy the view and have some lunch before you head back off again. That’s the sort of thing we would use them for. The Lounges would be for longer sitting, sky watching at night, that sort of thing. I am a fan. Now if they make them out of titanium someday, I would consider replacing all four with lighter ones. They are heavyish….) Also, a big shout out to Cliq's customer service folks. I had lots of discussions with them before we also decided to try the larger lounge chairs, purchased directly through the company during a big Labor Day sale. They were great, they did follow up and contacted me to see how I like them and even contacted me to remind me that my 30 day trial period was expiring in case I was thinking about returning them. How many companies do that?! A list of the other chairs we've tried: REI Flex-lite dream (comfortable bed really hard to put together. Took about 10 minutes and hard on Summers to get everything pulled into place. ) Eureka, high-back lounge. (Solid, comfortable, but huge and oh, so heavy) GCI Pico chair (they don't fold up and down in a smaller or easier than S, but it's upright, directors chair, not something we would lounge in. Good for dinner at a table, I guess.) Various quad chairs, both cheap, and pricey. (Never liked them, although they're easy enough to deploy. But they're long and bulky and space is an issue with us in a small B van) We decided the Cliq Chairs hit the sweet spot for us. (If we ever had a larger vehicle with storage, which we never will, we would once again get some patio style padded, zero gravity, lounge chairs. We had some years ago, they were great, especially for star watching, but nowhere to store them in a van.)

I wish the back was higher but I am very pleased with the ease of opening and closing up of this chair. Chair is comfortable and higher off the ground than some folding beach chairs, which is better for me to get out of. It's sturdy and the sturdiness accounts for its weight. Still quite portable; wish it came with its own carry bag (sold separately.)

A very sturdy chair which is probably why it's a lot heavier than I hoped for. The compact size is good to fit into a small backpack for all day festivals though so if you do not mind the extra weight then you'll love it.

My wife and I love to camp! We've owned several chairs that are small and portable, but the Cliq Chair beats them all! It's so fast and easy to set up. The other chairs we've owned, the chairs fold up somewhat small, easy to move around... but the set up is the tough part. One has to stick the pole of the chair into a cloth receptacle, and that isn't always easy; certainly not fast. We take these little chairs with us all the time. They are always a conversation starter! Yes, these are more expensive than some other chairs, but they are definitely worth it.

Got this chair in March '23 and purchased it because I'm a curvy girl (245 and 5'1") and the leg on a similar (but cheaper) chair bent on me. Was loving this chair. Super easy to set up and take down. Not too heavy to carry in hand or in a backpack and seemed really sturdy and was pretty comfortable. Used it a few times to go fishing and it worked great. Took it to an aviation convention/show in July. Was fine for the entire week. Last day of the convention waiting for the evening airshow to start, sitting in the chair and suddenly I'm sitting on the ground. The center hub snapped where one of the legs connected. Spent too much money on this to only get the equivalent of 2 weeks worth of use out of it.

Bought a pair during Prime Days sale for ACL, I don't think I could've been more impressed in a camping chair. The ease of use is a 10/10, each chair takes about 12 seconds to set up and you are sitting. Packing them up is just as simple and easy. Each time we would debate to sit to take a break or eat, they were down and ready in less than 30 seconds. I got plenty of compliments from nearby neighbors on how easy they looked to set up. Their seat height and build are excellent, for reference I'm 6'2" and sat extremely comfortably over the 3 day festival. Carrying them was no issue either as each chair weighs just a little over 3lbs. I highly recommend these if your needing a camping chair, definitely worth the expense.

I wanted something light and simple and this didn't fit the bill. It takes way too long to set up and is heavy to carry around (plus expensive). It is also not that comfortable to sit in. Theoretically it's a good idea - but I purchased a plain folding stool instead that meets my needs better. if you want a chair to camp in that you aren't just going to use for short periods of time this might work for you.
