Amazingly, it adjusts to my complexion. I have purchased several of these and keep them in various pockets and purses. I get lots of compliments wearing it. It’s not thick or sticky but rather translucent and very natural. It, however, is not very long lasting; hence the need for multiple tubes. It is not drying at all and I use it to keep lips moisturized as well.

Day, night, work, casual.... this is my go-to. It's enough tint to look like you're trying a little, but not so dramatic that you're trying too hard. I’ve been using this since high school. The packaging has changed, but the quality is consistent and it's always flattering. It's one of those things that another woman will see me take out of my purse, and she will show me she has the same one in her own purse. Seems to be beautiful on all skin tones and with all hair colors, just a universal human tint with nice moisture. I buy a couple when they go on sale. Recommend the same if you have the patience, as the normal price is a little high for me.

I love this new (for me) type of lip balm. Tinted, but has more pronounced color that normal lip balms, even tinted ones. I love that different skin tones that use this will essentially get the same color, but it will be unique to each skin tone as it will look a bit different on each person. Darker complexion, darker shade on your lips and vice versa. I initially bought the trial size w/ a trial size of their mascara as a duo, which is what got me hooked on it. THAT went so quickly (2 weeks), I ended up getting the full size. As the title says, not a lipstick or stain, so it is not long wear. It does require reapplying throughout the day which is my only negative thing to say about it. It's kind of double whammy as well; since it requires frequent reapplies, it gets used rather quickly and is a bit pricey for a lipbalm, but you pay for the name as well I suppose. Only reason for a 4 star. Its a mainstay for those times you want something like lipbalm, but with more prominent color. Very unique lippy and just love how the color looks on me. Highly recommend!

Black Honey is a great color. You can put on as little or as much as you want to create a light or darker color. One swipe just makes my lips look naturally blush. It is very light to wear and leaves my lips feeling moisturized. I do have to reapply after meals but that is not a big deal. Bought one for my daughter as well and it looks good on her too and we have different coloring. Think this would look good on anyone. Highly recommend.

I've used this product for decades. Even though I have other shades and brands I use, there is always a tube of this staple in my collection. I have bought it from department stores, from the Estee website and here. This one is exactly like the others. It is meant to be a sheer color... hence the name "almost lipstick". The formula is smooth, and leaves lips hydrated. It can be layered to make the color more pronounced. In my photo, I am wearing approx 3 layers. The swatch on my hand is one swipe. It will appear lighter or darker on individuals, based on the pigmentation of the lips, and skin tone. This is not a "mood" lipstick, or even a color-adjusting lipstick, as some other reviewers have stated. It is a very successful shade that becomes a chameleon on every person who wears it, and flatters most skin tones. That's why it has "hype*. It wouldn't have been around this long, if it were *meh*. Read the product description, and know what you're getting. If you do, and still choose to order it, you won't be disappointed.

OMG this lip balm is 100% worth the hype!! I'm fair skinned and was a little nervous the black honey would be too dark, especially when I opened it and saw the balm. However, it is not too dark at all--it definitely works with your skin tone and looks fabulous!

I like the neutral colour that gives a finished but not overdone look!

There is absolutely nothing which I dislike about this lip colour because it can be used on its own, layered for increased colour and intensity, blended with other colours, works well with lip pencils, stains , you name it . I have collected many lip colours within many mediums and this one ranks with the best of the best !
