After 20+ years the inner part of the Crock-Pot cracked, so it was time to throw out! It had clips to seal the lid . This time, we couldn't find a single slow cooker with lid clips, so we decided to go with this one. We are enjoying to cook meats with it and will so stews and chili in the fall. Capacity-wise, it is a nice size for a large household of 5 adults and two kids - we can lay side-by-side 2 flat briskets or two round eye roasts. The controls are basic and easy to use ( although the control labels on the pot are small and a little difficult to read). The meat cooks evenly and is moist at the end ( we do add some water inside with the meat and veggies). The inner pot cleans up nicely.

Admittedly I am a Crock Pot snob. Let me explain. I love the old, original Crock Pots. I have actually burned out two, my husband pulled one off the counter and broke it, and I now have 3 of them in my pantry. One of those was bought in an antique shop, in the original box and packaging never having been used. But when wanting to make a large batch or spaghetti, chili, or whole chicken one was just not large enough. Enter a different brand 6qt slow cooker. After only about two years the writing was worn off of the dial, the metal portion was stained beyond belief, and the dial itself was rickety. It was unreliable often over heating and boiling when it should not have been. So, when Prime Day came around and I discovered the 8qt Crock Pot brand slow cooker it was love and first sight. Generally, I am not fond of the newer removable ceramic cookers for several reasons. It is too easy to damage or break the ceramic removable pot, the cords are way too short, but primarily because there is no insulation whatsoever; just brushing up against the cooker can quickly burn. When bustling around the kitchen that can happen all too easily, but I understand that is the way they are made these days; grin and bear it I will. Even though it is touted to make clean up easier, I am not sure that is the case with any removable pot. When the new 8qt beauty arrived, despite the removable ceramic pot, it was quite large and very nice. After washing it and of course reading the booklet (sans cookbook which was noted in the description) I plugged it in and began experimenting. It was very simple to master and actually quite impressive. There are 3 heat choices and when programmed for cook time, it automatically switches to warm when that time has elapsed which I found reassuring; it can be programmed for up to 20 hours. It appeared to cook low on low and then high on high as it should. I have already used it 3 times. First it cooked an 8lb pork shoulder to perfection. Next 16 chicken thighs were used in a recipe my son calls, "Mississippi Mud Chicken," which he got from a local fireman. Lastly, just on a whim, I wondered how boiled peanuts would fare in the slow cooker. Half of the peanuts were boiled on the stove the traditional way and the other half were cooked in the Crock Pot on high for between 6-8 hours both pots at a slow boil. As it turns out, both were done at the same time and tasted exactly the same-texture, flavor and all. According to the description, this slow cooker can prepare enough food for up to 10 people, so no more multiple crock pots for get togethers. Despite no insulation, this programmable, stainless steel Crock Pot is going to be well used and well loved. Top 3 Likes: -Quality construction that is sturdy and solid enabling cooking to occur exactly as it should and as is programmed -When cooking time has elapsed it automatically converts to warm mode -Digital programming is easy to perform, distinct, well lit, with easily visible numbers Top 3 Dislikes: -The ceramic insert is quite heavy -Arthritic hands may need help -Bits of residue need to be scrubbed out of the ceramic insert after use

This crockpot is great. I love the preset heat/times on it, they are super easy to use. The automatic warm feature is super convenient and keeps my food warm and ready for me. The stainless steel matches my kitchen and looks great on the counter.

This Crock-Pot is a game-changer for busy weeknights! The programmable settings make it super easy to set it and forget it, and the slow cooking function ensures tender, flavorful meals every time. I love that the pot and lid are dishwasher safe, making cleanup a breeze. The 8qt size makes cooking large portions easy, perfect for feeding a crowd or meal prepping. The only downside is that the power cord could be a bit longer. Overall, this Crock-Pot is a fantastic investment for anyone who wants to make delicious, hassle-free meals. I highly recommend it!

Just for clarification, I'm not rating this particular product, just a caution to buyers about all crock pots in general. I bought this in November 2022 so I've only had it a little over a year. I love cooking in a crock pot and am not partial to any one particular brand as I've had several different brands over the years. I just love the ease of putting the ingredients in and having it ready when I get home in the evening. And until now, I was never concerned with leaving a crock pot unattended. But I cooked a roast two days ago, as I normally do, put the roast in mid morning, cooked on high for a few hours then reduced temp to low to continue cooking. Thankfully this was on Sunday so I was home most of the day. I also use the crock pot liner bags because they make cleanup so much easier but this time I noticed the liner had failed and the juices had leaked through and baked on the crock during the cooking process. While cleaning the countertops, I noticed a puddle of grease underneath the crock pot. Upon inspection, I realized that the crock liner itself had a crack along the side and during cooking, the grease and juices had seeped through onto the bottom of the crock base and out the two drain holes, which I never even realized were there since I never imagined food making through the crock liner the bottom of the cooker. I have granite tops, which are sturdy but still porous, so I now have a large grease stain on my countertop. I'm hoping to find a product that will pull the grease out but I'm not hopeful. As I stated, I always use the crock pot liner bags so I couldn't say if the crack was in the crock pot when I got it or if it happened at some point while I've had it. Nevertheless, my advice is to inspect your crock pot when you get it and periodically over time to make sure of no cracks to avoid a mess like mine.

One of the nicest CrocPots I've ever had. Large enough for a large hambone and beans (as pictured). Excellent purchase. Controls are easy. Program options light up nicely. Warm function works very well.

I've used this several times now and it did not disappoint. It does exactly what it's supposed to... works. My husband cracked my old cockpot, so I couldn't wait for prime day. The black color and stainless steel would complement any kitchen. The buttons are easy to use and the time is clearly portrayed. I got the large size so it does take up a bit of space, in the cabinet. The insert also cleans up well in the dishwasher.

Our daughter was always borrowing our old crock pot... so we went and bought the digital version of the crock pot and gifted our old unit to her. It works great. Only one thing odd about the new crock pot is that the glass cover doesn't tend to cover the top of the unit as well as the glass cover on the old crock pot. It almost seems like the cover was from a smaller version of our crock pot... but it works and does the job. On receipt the plastic handle on the top glass cover was broken... we contacted the company immediately and sadly they didn't have spare handles to repair this obvious warranty type item. They suggested that we either send the entire unit back to Amazon or for us to go and simply buy a new handle on Amazon - which is what we did... we paid 9 bucks to get a new handle the next day via Amazon. Fortunately the quality of the aftermarket handle is better then the flimsy plastic handle that came originally on the crock pot. All said and done... we love this crock pot.
