Very rugged and versatile. It is also very bright, on the highest setting. It uses quite a bit of battery power. However, it's great on your lower settings

So if you're like me and have a handful of Dewalt tools, chances are, you also have a handful of Dewalt batteries as well. The tools were used intermittently so most of the time the batteries just sat on my shelf undisturbed. So I figure I should get some 20 volt Dewalt tools to maximize battery use and justify purchase. So I bought this light from right here on Amazon. Since owning, I have used this blinding light for fixing cars, gardening at night in the Summer time, night fishing and camping. The only time I had to change out the battery was when it was used for camping. It outshined all of my friends' Coleman propane lanterns combined on high mode. There were 5 of them. With a 6ah battery, on medium, it lasted pretty much from dusk till wee hours of the night. The battery was not completely out but I switched it out anyhow. I placed an 8ah battery and it lasted till the next morning. The only issue is the weight. Since it's kind of heavy, it cannot be placed onto a Coleman lantern stand. However, I solved that issue by using a camera light C-Stand which I already own. C-stands are heavy duty and can hold plenty of weight. You can see the Coleman lantern stand and the c-stand next to each other on these images. Overall, I am completely satisfied with the purchase. I bought the Dewalt tripod light and though it is versatile, the light output lags behind this one. The illumination dispersion on this light is also much greater than the tripod light since it illuminates at 360 degrees.

Comes in handy it beats having to get an extension cord to light up a basement I’m working in pretty durable too it’s dropped on concrete from 8ft multiple times and the plastic dome hasn’t cracked at all it is pretty tricky to put a 9AH flex bolt battery though so I’d recommend putting a 6ah or smaller

Doesn’t destroy batteries like knock off lights. Communicates low battery with blinking. easy to place or hang. Super bright. Worth every penny.

So first off, I think this product is great. It’s bright and seemed well made. Digging through the reviews and questions, I noticed that Dewalt stated that this light is able to be mounted to a tripod. This was perfect for my needs and was one of the reasons that pushed me for the purchase. Dewalt failed to mention that there are TWO models of this light on the market. TYPE 1 has the tripod capability, but for some reason TYPE 2 does not. I called Dewalt today and customer service mentioned that TYPE 2 is newly released, and they were only updated on this themselves earlier in the week. Another note is that TYPE 1 hooks are different from TYPE 2. In my opinion, the TYPE 1 hook seems stronger and allows the light to balance better while hanging. I returned the TYPE 2 and am incredibly happy with my TYPE 1.

Batteries don’t last to long on brightest setting but do well on the lower setting. I can’t complain about quality or anything but you should know it’s light just gos everywhere and can’t be aimed. Blinds you when sitting in the floor but is fine hanging overhead. Wouldn’t get another one but will continue with this one til it quits

These lights are great. They however only run on batteries. I own 3 of them and use them everyday at the jobsite!

Will work good for when I have the power off working on electrical.

Super bright on max but the low/mid setting will be all you would need for most applications plus on low with a 5 or 6AH battery it'll run pretty much all day. You wouldn't think Bluetooth control would matter much but it can be really handy, case in point light on in a roof but you're downstairs about to have smoko-no need to go all the way up, just turn it off with your phone. Note: My pics and vid are obviously of my 18V model, my 20V model is exactly the same just with 20V stamped on it.

Light arrived at a perfect time ...a 12 hr power outage. Always knew of the necessity for power backups in the home but a good reminder in the middle of a COVID-19 winter in -20 Canadian Winter. First off I saw a couple reviews about the battery life so I was sceptical..I used this at minimum light output with 6ah Flexvolt fully charged battery. After 3 hrs of use the battery was still at full power. The lowest setting provides an adequate amount of light to play boardgames and find your way around. Great spread of light given the bulbous/dome design on top (kudos to DeWalt on that one). Only knock on it would be the weight of the light...its heavy but I actually like the heft. Would do well if accidentally hit on a job site. Handy foldaway hook on the bottom for hanging from from rafter etc for over head lighting and a Hole for tripod mounting (probably with a DeWalt product) An overall well designed product by Dewalt. Will be useful for many projects where portable lighting necessary.

Good buy, my hubby loves this light. But he is a fan of dewalt ( he should be a sales rep) because he talks up their products often! “Awesome, extremely bright ( don’t look into the light) great for extending your work day! Loved that it’s cordless,but would be nice if there was also cord for those rare occasions that I’d want to use the cord option. I like how there’s a hanging option, great for hanging up high to light up the area..in regards to the battery light with the 6amp battery ( not included) it last just under 4 hours.). Overall I’m happy with this product!

As an electrician i found this a great work light to light up a large area ,always have a headlamp on hand but nothing like lighting up a switchboard room and seeing properly when the power is off ,great for group camping when hung up high
