Product Description

· PROTEIN SYSTEM: David has 28g of protein and only 150 calories. This is 75% CFP (CFP = Calories from Protein / Total Calories). The most protein-dense bar in existence. A diversity of protein sources comes together for a perfect 1.0 protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS), meaning this protein is the best amino acid profile for both muscle building and optimal bodily functioning (including skin, hair, and nail health). · BINDING SYSTEM: These ingredients bind the bar together. Without these, the bar would just be protein powder. Allulose provides binding as well as sweetness. Unlike sugar, allulose is actually a prebiotic and shown to decrease blood sugar spikes when eaten with other carbohydrates. Polydextrose is also a prebiotic fiber that promotes a healthy microbiome. Glycerin, Tapioca Starch, and Soy Lecithin are used in smaller quantities to help the bar stay soft and moist over time. · FAT SYSTEM: The goal of David is to create the highest CFP bar possible (CFP = Calories from Protein / Total Calories), meaning the most protein with the fewest calories. Fat contains 9 calories per gram compared to 4 calories per gram for both protein and carbohydrates. This makes it essential to reduce fat calories in order to craft the best product possible. In addition to coconut oil, cocoa butter, and palm oil, David uses a modified plant to help achieve the texture of fat with fewer calories. · FLAVOR SYSTEM: The David Flavor System uses no artificial sweeteners and no artificial flavors. Key components of the flavor system are cocoa powder, natural flavors, stevia, monk fruit extract, and salt. · WHY PROTEIN IS SO IMPORTANT: Protein intake is the foundational of nutrition for 3 key reasons: (1) to increase or maintain muscle and lean mass for optimal functioning now and to avoid injury or weakness as you age. (2) to properly regulate caloric intake, thus helping to avoid excess body fat and manage metabolic health, (3) to support essential bodily functions as protein pays a key role in healthy bones, muscles, skin, hair, nails, and joints.

We did a lot of research and found that these protein bars are the best in terms of amount of protein, clean ingredients, and number of calories. Expensive, but worth the peace of mind that my gym rat teen doesn’t need to dabble in toxic ingredients. He loves the taste, especially salty peanut, chocolate fudge, blueberry pie, and cake batter.

I recently tried David’s Protein Bar Variety Pack and was pleasantly surprised by both the taste and the quality of these bars. Each flavor in the pack has its own unique twist—none of them feel repetitive. I especially appreciated that they aren’t overly sweet or chalky, which can be an issue with many protein bars. Each bar provides a solid protein boost, making them perfect for a post-workout snack or a midday pick-me-up. The texture is chewy without being tough, and they’re easy to throw into a gym bag or a purse when you’re on the go. If you’re looking for a convenient way to get more protein into your diet without sacrificing flavor, I’d definitely recommend giving these bars a try. The variety pack is a great option if you want to switch up the taste and find your personal favorite.

These bars are meant to be lean, essentially protein-only bars. What makes other protein bars “delicious” is sugar and fat. The idea here is preserve macros and get you an almost protein-only snack at only 150 calories. So in that sense, it is unique. Do not buy these if you are looking for delicious chocolaty flavor, that’s not what this is about. They have basically taken a scoop of whey protein and made it edible in bar form. The consistency is a bit strange the first time you taste it and the flavor is subtle and not overpowering. The 2 new peanut butter flavors are by far the best and a huge step above the others. Don’t even think about the blueberry one, it tastes very artificial. This is an alternative to when you don’t want the liquid of a protein shake or the pain of making one and have it on the go. Which is why I will buy them again.

Do you want a candy bar? If so, the grocery store has aisles full of candy bars selling themselves as protein bars. They try to avoid sugar, but they're using sugar alcohols as a substitute, which will do terrible things to your gut. I struggle to get enough protein every day. As you get older, you need more. And I'm active ... I try to get to 100 grams of protein a day. The problem is getting that much protein without getting 10,000 calories along with it. These bars are amazing. No sugar (a small amount of stevia), an amazing protein to calorie ratio, and taste good. If you are looking for a higher protein candy bar, then go through the grocery store, try all the options, and like me, you'll realize this isn't the path to a healthy diet. David protein bars are exactly what I was looking for, thank you for making them!

Love the addition of two more bars with peanut flavors in this sample box. Already loved the previous 4 pack sample box, but these new bars add extra days of flavors. Bars are not large, but pack a tremendous amount of protein. The consistency is firm and has a bit of crunch mixed into the bars for a nice mouth feel and chew. The Brownie Fudge remains my overall favorite, but I enjoy each flavor and the opportunity to have something different each day. I know it costs a little more to buy just the sample boxes, rather than a larger box of just one flavor, but I prefer the choices. Recommend these to up your protein options.

Definitely a 5-star protein bar. These bars taste great, and the macros are insane - 28 grams of protein, 0 sugar, and only 150 total calories. I really don't think you can beat that. Perfect post workout nutrition, and also a great option for meal replacement / snacking when you're on the go.

Macros are unbeatable. 28g of protein in 150 cals with no sugar is great. Problem is the taste of most of them. With the exception of the Blueberry which was very good, all the others have that unmistakable, weird, kind of gross protein bar taste. They've changed it up with texture in a couple of flavors but they're too expensive to justify buying when they taste this average. Ever had the Pure Protein brand you can pick up at Walmart? Yeah, they taste like that. Good marketing, poor taste. I'd buy a case of the Blueberry if they were a buck less per bar. Taste is subjective though, maybe you'll love them?

I bought these for their amazing macros. 150 cal for 28g of protein is unheard of! I didn't expect them to taste like a candy bar due to the high protein content & I was definitely correct. But they don't taste bad. Better than a lot of protein bars with less protein but not as tasty as say a Barebells bar (but those don't have as good of macros). Overall, if you're looking for a high protein, low calorie bar, these are definitely worth a try!
