I purchased this item from the suggestion of my girlfriend that has one.. I have only used it once, but I think it's very good, seems reliable. The led screen seems easy to read. The magnet also is very strong. It is a pretty good size. I love that you can put it on the refrigerator or anything else that is magnetic like I have with my knives next to my stove. It has several different features also. The battery comes with it and it looks like it's a average battery that you can replace easily. You can turn the thing on and it even gives you the temperature of the room, That is how accurate it is. I also like that, it has a chart (on it) of what's degrees each meat should be or item. I would highly recommend this item. I would have no problem buying it for a gift. There is also information on the box which is nice also.

This is very nice and convenient for checking the temperature of meats to ensure doneness. We use it when cooking steaks and prime rib. We never have to question whether or not the meat is done. It's compact.

This thermometer is very well made and has a lifetime warranty which added to the appeal. Instructions are simple and easy to follow; however, a helpful note to add might be to make sure the display is completely cleared by closing the probe and reopening before starting the calibration process. It took me a few tries after I was playing with the “hold, max, min” feature. Only when I cleared it was I able to calibrate it. I like that it’s magnetized, which I found out by surprise when it stuck to my gas grill while barbecuing. I have not used this thermometer for candy making yet so I’m hopeful that it works as described. If it does, that’ll save me money by not having to buy a separate one like we’re being led to believe is a must. Just because the probe is shorter than the 8”-10” candy thermometer does not mean you can’t use it for that purpose. Only the tip needs to be submersed. You can always wear a glove or use a potholder if necessary. Overall, so far I’m very pleased with this purchase and will recommend it to family and friends.

Great product overall, especially for the price! I don't cook meat to often so it works perfectly for me and I didn't want to spend lots of money on it. It's accurate, easy to use and easy to store. I also like the sleek desing :) only complaint is that my batteries stopped working earlier than hopped. Other than that, I would recommend the product!

Almost purchased one that looks exactly like this one that was $49. Woks great and the display does light up. The pointy probe folds away and it turns on and off automatically when the probe is flipped out or stored away. Another feature is it has a magnetic back.

This thermometer is extremely easy to use and very quickly provides the temperature. The probe is sturdy and easily penetrates the meat being tested. This is a hand device to have in the kitchen or outside with the BBQ. We own two!
