The description says that this would go on paint and other surfaces, however we found that it doesn't stick too well on paint/metal combined (even after cleaning). We had to put on the metal frame and it sealed great. Easy to use.

USE THE HIGHEST GRADE OF RUBBING ALCOHOL YOU HAVE ( the knd we use in hand sani ) AND AFTER YOU HAVE VISUALLY MAPPED OUT WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO APPLY THE DOUBLE SIDED TYPE CLEAN THAT ENTIRE AREA WITH PAPER TOWELS SOAKED IN THE ALCOHOL AND CLEAN IT REALLY WELL> GO OVER IT ONE MORE TIME. LET IT DRY COMPLETELY !!! YOUR TAPE WILL NOW STICK AND IF YOU NEED TO READJUST THE FILM IT WILL NOT PULL AWAY FROM THE AREA YOU APPLIED IT TO !!! REALLY COOL!! I buy this stuff every year to help maintain the temperature of the really old manufactured home I live in. I bought this specific one. There is what I thought was just dust on it, but has a residue that doesn’t just wipe off and makes it kind of hazy and not clear like normal. Instead of looking like I’m looking straight out the window. It looks like I need to clean it. I used a hairdryer to help heat shrink because that is what I normally do and most of the wrinkles came out, but some are deeply embedded and don’t straighten out.

This is the best quality and easiest install window kit I've ever used. Much more reasonably priced than some brand names and I found the quality to be superior. Adhesive was great, nice thick film that does tear.
