I bought this for an emergency in case lights shut off. I have my generator. I’ve hooked it up to. It turns on works really good. It does take a while to cool down after you disconnect it but other than that, it heats up excellent

A really great product at a cheap price. Does the job and heats pretty quickly for such a small unit. The only thing I don’t like is that the knob that turns it on is a little loose. Some reviews say it gets hot; I didn’t notice it getting any hotter than any other unit I’ve owned.

This is a good burner which I've used 2-3 times now. I like the cast iron for even heating and it doesn't take too long to heat up. It maintains a steady temperature. I don't like the surface of the burner. The cast iron top is ridged, not smooth and it seems to have some type of coating, maybe teflon? I don't care for it. I would like to just have a plain smooth cast iron surface. A smooth surface would be easier to clean. But most of the cast iron burners on Amazon seem to have this. I didn't see anywhere in the description about a coating, but if there is, please tell me. The cord is very short, only 28" and doesn't reach in my situation. There's even a statement in its defense in the instruction manual, "Short Cord Purpose: A short power cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord. Longer power-supply cords or extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use." It is probably suitable for most situations where the burner is on a countertop in a kitchen with receptacles on the backsplash only a foot or two away. But if that is not the case then an extension cord rated for the 1000W burner would be required.

The burner is very well made, and easy to use. It's very easy to keep clean, just wash with a sponge. It's slow to heat up, but I believe that's a safety feature. The controls are simple to use. I'm very happy with the cast iron burner. It's a lot sturdier than the coil hot plate I had previously.

It works great for small jobs. We spend a lot of time downstairs where our TV and easy chairs are, but our main kitchen is upstairs. This allows us to cook small things downstairs so we don't have to go upstairs. It operates like any electric appliance that continues to heat even when you turn it off, so if you don't have a place to put your cooking appliance when you take it off the hot plate, and you just turn off the power, remember to turn it off several minutes before the cooking time ends as it continues to heat.

We use this lightweight table top burner in our camper and it works fantastic. Heats up real fast and easy to use. I’ve cooked fast meals all the way to hours long stews and it was great!

Product does heat up decently. Food takes longer to cook though. And once it hits a certain temp it turns off,and your only option is to cook on the highest heat setting. So not good If you're trying to simmer or keep food warm. You could probably fit 2 small pots at the same time, but if you want to use a regular or large sized pot or pan, I don't think it would work. And after the first use the burner discolored slightly. It's compact and easy to store though, and it does cook food.

Takes a bit longer to heat up than an electric fry pan but once it's hot it holds the heat very well. Will continue to boil water at least 5 minutes after you turn the power off.

So I read the reviews after I bought this and was seeing things like it can't boil water, or it takes forever to heat up etc, however I just received and tested mine and it boiled water perfectly fine, it may have taken a few extra minutes but if your buying one of these your already in a make due with what you have type situation anyways

After reading some negative comments regarding heating times and/or heat tempertures I was skepticaly reluctant to invest in the 1000 Watt Elite Gourmet ESB-301BF# Countertop Single Flat Burner. When a 'new and used' was available and rated 'used acceptable' for $17.77/$19.88 taxes in I bit the hook. Arrived in 2 days. Packaging was expectably reassembled in factory box from previous use and in flawless condition. Followed directions cleaning off the heat element and set it outside for the initial 15 minute burn on 'HIGH'. Not wanting to waste energy on a burn, placed a large covered pot filled with 40oz water, which took approximately 8 minutes to boil, noticed no element burn off. Heated up very fast, maximum temp is perfect for cooking with 8" and 6" cast iron fry pans and steel pots. Wished I had bought one years ago and would pay full price today for the overall storage/cooking options. Easy cleanup and takes no room to store. Overall very pleased with the price, product and strongly recommend for saving energy over large electric stoves. Amazon delivery was great as well.
