Seems like flat lights are cool right now - this is a way to join the club without breaking the bank. This light is well made, has good output, and has a reasonably easy to use "user interface". Is it quite as bright or quite as nice as some of the fancy pants options? No. But it's also $40, and other flat lights will cost you nearly $100. Oh - the magnet in the tail end is easily strong enough for this thing to stick off of a metal panel sideways, which not all of my flashlights can pull off. I'd say this is more than adequate for 95% of humans that need a good flashlight. Speaking as someone who likes a fancy flashlight - I even thought this was pretty cool. If you are thinking you need a flat flashlight in your life - start here, I doubt you will be disappointed.

I've used any number of Energizer flashlights over the years. This is far superior to any you might find at the local supermarket or department store. It's brighter, rechargeable, sturdier, and easier to use. Nice form factor too, it looks good and clips on to fit in almost any pocket for easy access.

Picked this up as it was fairly cheap and I am not entirely impressed so far. It's considerably larger than I expected. My O'light Arkfeld is only about 2/3 of it's length. It's fairly light for its size. The buttons are very stiff and not very easy to operate, quick double press is especially challenging. UI is a little weird and, since there is no instructions of any kind, I am still trying to figure out how to get out of strobe mode when I accidentally did it, other than shutting it off. The light is decent although I'd like to see the focused beam to have a bit more of a hotspot with slightly longer reach. So far it seems that only turbo mode turns on both lenses at max output. I only managed to do that for about 2 seconds on full charge, and buttons flashed red when I tried again. Don't know if it's battery or heat preventing it. It would have been really nice if there were low\medium usable settings with both lens on. All in all, for $12 I wasn't expecting a whole lot and this still came up just short. I am sure it could still be useful but there isn't much to write home about.

I’m a big fan of flat flashlights so this new light from Energizer caught my eye. It’s almost identical to my Coast Slayer flashlight and I think if nothing else, they’re re-using the chassis. Brightness is surprisingly good, as are both of the beam patterns with one LED serving as a spotlight and the other as a flood light. The turbo mode kicks both of them on at the same time for a short amount of time, but otherwise there’s no way to run them both simultaneously. It feels and looks well built, it’s pretty lightweight and I like the magnets on the rear, which are strong and easily support the light. It’s really pretty comparable to the Coast Slayer in terms of output as well, and while neither light will blow you away, it’s capable of putting out very usable amounts of light and has excellent battery life too. I’d probably recommend this light over the Coast since it’s a much better value and overall think it’s a very solid little light.

My significant other takes the dogs on early morning walks and needs a good flashlight. The one we had been using died, so I got him this Energizer flashlight because it’s rechargeable. Our previous flashlight went through batteries like crazy, so being rechargeable was a definite selling point. He absolutely loves it! The flashlight is very bright and offers both a spotlight and a wide area mode. It has very strong magnets on the end, which turned out to be very handy when picking up doggy doo in the dark. He just attaches the magnet to his neck lanyard, and it shines down exactly where he needs it. It’s incredibly lightweight and fits easily in pockets. The charge lasts a long time as well. This is a great little flashlight, and I highly recommend it!

I am a bit of a light geek and will generally have one in my pocket every day. I have smaller ones for shorts and joggers and I would put this one into the jeans / pants category just due to the size. It's not heavy, despite being all metal. Charged quickly with the included cord. There are two buttons that glow green when the light is turned on and two bulbs on the front. One button controls the spot and one the flood. They have symbols to distinguish which is which and are easy to find with the rubber covers. They sit flush so are not likely to accidentally activate in your pocket. If you turn it one and use it for a few seconds, the next push turns it off. If you turn it on and keep pushing you can scroll through the three brightness settings on each button. It goes Normal/High/Low and off. No, you cannot run both at the same time. It is not stunningly bright, but it is more than adequate for most tasks I encounter. It really is hard to think of a way to make it better and even has two magnets on the back so you could temporarily suspend / mount it if needed.
