Without the dividers in place the container is not very rigid. Adding the 'liner' to the bottom of it helps, but it's somewhere between a sturdy bag and toy box. Four year old could totally climb in, close the lid, and pretend to sleep in it - 10/10 would get again (no risk of suffocation, lids are velcro attached fabric panels) The only way I could see a kid getting hurt with it is buy getting in it and it falling on it's side with them in it - that happened with my four year old... but other than that, it's soft material that's hard to imagine being a problem.

I purchased this box to organize my daughter’s toys and let me tell you it is bang for the buck. It is a little flimsy on the top so do not put anything heavy on it but perfect for toy, blanket, or clothing storage.
