Purchased this chicken baby food for rescue cats needing extra nutrition, socializing and to mix with deworming medications. This basic baby food is pure protein and moisture. There is no garlic and onions which can be deadly for cats. They love the flavor and texture too. Some prefer room temperature (out-of-the-jar), refrigerated or slightly warmed. Excellent for fussy or ill cats. Crush tablets or add liquid medications to the baby food. Can even mix a bit of baby food with canned or kibble cat food. :)

It’s exactly what it advertises. It’s Puréed meat for babies and protein. But it tastes god awful. My baby would make a face every time I fed it to her. But she got her protein.

I started using these for my dog when she's sick or needs a treat, on the recommendation of my veterinarian. Easy to digest, they love it, and no artificial junk in them... I just pop the jar open and hand it to her, and she loves licking the little jar clean, and will lick it long after the baby food is gone just enjoying licking the jar. It is a lifesaver if she gets stomach trouble or diarrhea. Straightens her right out. She got some teeth pulled and couldn't eat kibble for a week, so she was thrilled to get a week of nothing but baby food! She prefers the turkey over the other flavors for some reason. She won't do the ham, and sometimes doesn't like the beef, so I always just order the turkey or chicken because she never refuses to eat that.

I have been giving these to my 1yr old since she turned 7m. I can give her directly, use as pasta base, mix with other food and she loves them. Calories dense and very fine for babies.

UPDATE: 10/21/22 - I last purchased this 12 pack on: 09/13/22 for: $14.14. Today, 10/21/22 there is one (1) Buying Option, 3rd party - $29.99. Time to check out alternate products.08/24/22- Gerber (aka: Nestle) has changed the appearance of the labeling of jars & it seems not just the labeling has been changed but the product contained within. While I have noticed over the past couple months when I purchase these "meat" varieties, especially the Chicken version, it pours out - literally like water causing me to actually check the ingredient listing to verify which is listed first- water or chicken. Still says chicken as 1st ingredient but I'm wondering if this is being experienced elsewhere. I waited to update this review to see if I was just unlucky but it's been a couple months & whether retail store or Amazon purchase, the Chicken version recipe particularly, has been modified significantly, seeming to be more water than chicken. It would seem to be consistent across all sites of purchase- I just happen to purchase the large amounts from Amazon & as a fill in, purchase in retail stores. If refrigerated, it will thicken somewhat but that's only a method used for leftovers. In addition, along with every other purchase in the current market, the individual jar costs where I live is $1.59- $1.79 per jar so it's more economical still to purchase in the quantities offered thru Amazon & these packages are not available in retail outlets in my location in California. My one cat has issues with chunky cat food products & I'm left with this alternative which has become quite costly when there are multiple cats in a home who have their particular tastes but this one has a specific need. Let me say, these cats came to me when i moved to my current location, ferals & strays, neutered, spayed & vaccinated due to an irresponsible community & high cost services unless a generous donor or grant comes to town, those of us with limited incomes are the ones who care for these animals. I have noticed many reviews who use these products for the same populations for a variety of reasons. It has become a costly venture when no other choices will work but it would be nice if with the cost increase there would remain some quality control & not a diluted product with higher prices. This is a manufacturer issue, not Amazon. I just happen to Purchased numerous times over past year for an elderly cat & then for foster kitten. As far as flavor -I will assume they enjoy the chicken flavor, which is their favorite. Since I have placed so many orders I noticed the consistency of the product varies with each shipment- some are thicker & kind of lumpy while others can be thin & smooth. Today I wanted to place another order so I went into my Order History, found my last purchase of this same product @ the beginning of August 2021, which I paid $9.40 each 10 pack & clicked the "Buy Again" feature which brought me to the place I purchased previously & that same 10 pack is $23.44! Seriously? This seems to happen more often than not. When a product has high demand-suddenly it's offered under "See all buying options" & the product has a ridiculous price. My cats might love this but I will find them an alternate. Price gouging isn't the way to keep customers.
