I recently got the Giraffe Tools AW30 Garden Hose Reel Retractable, and it's been a game-changer for my gardening routine. The retractable hose works like a charm, making watering plants a breeze and keeping the hose neatly stored when not in use. While the reel itself is sturdy and well-designed, I did notice a slight drop in water pressure compared to using a straight hose. However, it's a minor inconvenience compared to the convenience of having a retractable hose always ready and neatly stored. I really like this hose real. I have been researching different hose reels for a long time and to get a good one I was going to have to pay a lot like $500 plus which are very heavy and need to be mounted to something very strong. This hose reel is easy to install on any wall or pile and I like how it very easily stops where u want after extending it, it’s lightweight but nothing imunmanageable. I hope it holds up for along time because I try my best to take good care of my things and only buy things that will last me along time. I doubt the plastic sprayer holds up for too long it seems very cheaply made so I replaced it anyways with a brass one that I’ve had forever. If this hose reel lasts me along time without problems I plan on buying the pressure washer I love how it mounts on the wall and all the hoses are neatly organized. It would be so nice to be able to just pull out the pressure washer hose and have everything ready to go whenever I wanted to quickly pressure wash sonething

I purchased the 100ft 1/2in Hose/Reel unit on May 16th 2023. It was easy to mount and worked flawlessly for 14 months. Then I noticed a large bubble in the hose just below the nozzle handle. It wasn't long after that the hose split open and water was spraying all over the deck until we could cut off the water supply outside. According to the Giraffe website, it carries a 2-year warranty when sold by Giraffe Tools directly or via their Amazon store. I've reached out to Giraffe for support via the website form and I've left a message on their toll-free number. It's been 2 days and I have not heard anything. **UPDATE** I received an email on day 3 after submitting my request via the support site. They requested an explanation, pictures, and a short video with water running. I immediately sent them the requested info. the following morning I received an email indicating they were shipping me a replacement free of charge. I was well within the 2-year warranty. The replacement showed up today so it took approximately 6 days. I am in Virginia and they shipped from California so that time frame was expected. Overall I am pleased with the support. It took a little longer to be contacted back, but once they did they were swift in their decision to replace the unit.

Edit: they saw my review and reached out instantly and sent me a brand new one! I am excited to give this another try. Excellent customer service! have had this hose for less than 6 months. After month 1 it was already not retracing. At this point it just needs to go in the trash. It doesn’t retract, the hose has parts where it has cracked. The nozzle broke quickly. I would also like to follow all of this with I cleaned it and put it away after EVERY use with a dry towel. So disappointing.

I purchased three of these retractable hoses in March 2022. They were somewhat difficult to install- a two person job - especially if installing into concrete wall or brick. I used each one maybe once a week around my gardens. The first hose broke in August 2022. A second broke by exploding in my face in September. The third hose (the one that was used the least due to location in gardens needing less water) still works, but I don’t have faith it will last. I contacted Giraffe tools to honor their 2 year replacement warranty. I had to “chat” back & forth for a hour because their rep claimed they had no record with of my purchase. I sent copies of invoice, screenshots, etc. I was told they’d send replacements. Later that day, someone contacted me via email and I went back & forth with them on the same issue I thought I resolved earlier in the day. They claimed no proof of purchase from Amazon even though I had receipts & obviously bought them from Amazon or I wouldn’t be leaving an Amazon review. They said “contact Amazon.” So, today I spent about 45 minutes chatting with Amazon, forwarding the chat transcripts & multiple emails to Amazon customer service who agreed that Giraffe tools should’ve honored their warranty. But, since they didn’t, Amazon will offer refund less restocking fee. That was the only solution. Now, subtracting for a restock fee seems odd because these are broken; they cannot be restocked! However, since it’s the only way to recoup some of the loss, then that’s what I must take. My advice is to not order this retractable hose or any products from Giraffe tools because apparently they are of subpar quality and the company will not honor their stated warranty. Save yourself time and trouble and find a retractable hose elsewhere. And, make sure you pay via a credit card that has a product warranty benefit, just in case.

Hose retracts and works fine however weight of hose filled with water has caused plastic mounting to sag with sun exposure. Would not recommend this design for the 100ft hose UPDATED: Fantastic customer service. Followed up on my review and replace unit Seller deserves 5Star based on desire to make it right

This is the best ever! The companies customer service is also amazing. I ran into a snag with mine and reached out to the vendor. They responded quickly and sorted out my needs no problem. Highly recommend

I have the competitor brand hose that starts with letter “G”, and I am a bit disappointed with the Giraffe one. The other G brand one was slightly more expensive but felt way better quality. The hose reel on my other G brand retracts slower but more consistently, the hose material felt beefier even though it’s the same 1/2” specs, and won’t kink up like the Giraffe. Also the side covers on this felt like they are gonna pop out any second. And the post mount part already started sagging after using for 3 weeks. So overall I think it’s good product, but not one I would recommend. I would recommend spending slightly more money and get the Gardena reel.
