I already use a Greenworks blower, trimmer, snow shovel, and snow blower, so buying this mower was obvious. Fortunately, all the reviews I read were very positive. I mowed my grass and my neighbors, and I really have no complaints. It worked fine. I like it better than my gas mower. Oh, and it’s much quieter. All my equipment uses the Greenworks 80V battery. I now have a collection of batteries and chargers. Setup is fairly easy and quick. I use mulching, and it comes setup for this. You can also use side-discharge or rear-discharge. You just insert the upper handle control bars and unlock and lift up the rest of the handle, charge the battery and your set. What I like is the metal deck and the one-lever adjust for height. Adjusting the height is so easy now. I don’t have to manipulate some small lever on each wheel. I also like the self-propel mechanism. It comes in two speeds, which is nice. It pushes much easier than my gas mower even without using the self-propel. I am pleased with all my Greenworks equipment, and this mower is no exception. Good choice.

Update after 3 months: Lost it. Absolutely zero problems with this mower. The only minor issue so far is that the "skirt" that smooths the grass after driving over it is long enough that I think the mower took a chunk out of it. This is purely cosmetic, and didn't damage the mower whatsoever. Other than that, I never want to go back to combustion. This mower is quiet, powerful, and full-featured. Pros: Quiet. You only hear the whir of the blade, and it also sounds like the bag portion rattles a bit when you go over bumps. The fact that I can even hear that rattle shows how quiet this thing is. Powerful. I have some super dense grass thanks to a flow from the sump pump. The 80v version went through this at least as well as my gas mower, if not better. All the modes. Bag, mulch, or side ejection. All included. Solid battery life. I have a very hilly 1/4 acre, and I took extra time due to still learning my yard. The battery showed 2 out of 3 lights still green, which means at least 50% battery remaining. The battery charger has a fan in case the battery gets hot, which is great. So far I've had zero problems charging my battery. One handle to raise or lower the mower. This is so incredibly convenient. Folds vertically. The mower isn't light by any means, but compared to a gas mower, it's positively agile and stores so nicely. Very happy with this. Cons: The Folding function on the handle isn't perfect. You have to lower the mower to the lowest position (super easy thanks to the handle!) before you can fold the handle. Even then, the handle has 2 small plastic tabs on either side which must be pulled at the same time to raise or lower the handle. When the handle is down, this also means the weight of the handle is pushing on the tabs, making them harder to pull. Someone with limited mobility may need assistance folding the handle. Worth noting: I saw several people complaining they couldn't figure out how to start the mower. There's a sticker with pictures right beside the button. Press the "on" button, then hold down the safety bar to engage the blade. Maybe this is different on different mowers, but for this unit, you just need to look at the sticker. On battery life. I think many people could be confused by the "low power" mode, and think this means the battery is bad. The mower intelligently senses when you need full power, and goes into a low-energy mode for longer runtime. I think a lot of people are hearing the mower go to low power, and assume it's defective. The energy saving mode is intended! The mower should throttle up and down as needed. Store your battery indoors for longer life. A large battery like this shouldn't be left outdoors over the winter. Although a rechargeable battery like this won't totally freeze even in sub-zero temperatures, they work better when kept at room temperature. I keep my charger base indoors, and I leave my battery on the base when not in use. Overall: I'm never going back to gas if this mower keeps performing. It's lightweight, it folds easily, and it's not damaging me with fumes or noise. I love it.

This lawn mower is easy to use, quiet, and does a nice job! I've never run out of battery power and can cut my whole yard, front and back. It's easy to push. The only thing that is challenging about it is trying to remove the battery from the mower when I'm finished; it's hard for me to hold down the "clip" and pull the battery out at the same time. I don't like that one thing about it, but otherwise I love this mower!

I've been considering a battery powered mower for a few years now. I've had a Ryobi 18V string trimmer for 5 or 6 years, so I've been eager to stop needing gas cans and doing oil changes for my mower. When I started reading reviews for this mower, it finally seemed like it might do the job. I have a decent sized yard, that takes me about 35-40 minutes to mow with a push mower. I wanted to be sure a battery mower had plenty of energy to handle long grass, as It can grow quite fast here. I ordered the 4Ah version on a Warehouse deal and was excited to try it out. Unfortunately when it arrived, the battery was missing. Amazon remedied the situation with a new battery and I was set to go. The first time I used it, the grass was still a bit wet, and was probably a good 6" in most places. This mower handled it without a problem. It has the extra power mode, and it was active most of the job. I used the side discharge mode and level 4 for this, as even my gas mower would have loaded up and bogged down mulching, and I would have had to empty the bag every 5 minutes in bagging mode. Even after 40 minutes of mowing, I still had 2 battery bars left! My second mow was about 4 days later, because I wanted it down to level 3. This time I used the bagging mode, because we were having some people over, and I didn't want to many clippings tracked into the house. Again the cut was great. The only things I would change are as follows: Option to manually select high power mode - sometimes when you go into a patch of thick grass it takes a second for it to engage, and you have to either slow down or back up to clean up a couple feet. If you have the deck on Level 3, the adjustment handle interferes with the folding handle. - I plan to mow at Level 3 most of the time, and I also like to fold it up so it takes up less space. Compatibility with Kobalt 80V products. - It can be modded, but I had to cut up a brand new mower. Maybe next year. Would I buy it again? Definitely. Now make me a 2 stage snowblower that can handle my whole driveway, and I'll never need a gas can again.

It was time to replace our gas mower. I saw this battery powered unit, and after reading a bunch of reviews, I decided to buy it. When I compared it to other units, this one had the better battery and it was wider. These were things that I didn’t realize until after I shopped around. Today we assembled it and mowed our large corner lot. The lawnmower works like a charm. I love the fact that it is quieter than our old gas mower, it doesn’t require any fussing around with oil, gas and spark plugs, and it is environmentally friendly. This new mower is worth every penny. I am very happy with it. It starts on a dime and is easy to use. Even if we were to just use it for a year, it would pay for itself.

Lots of power for thicker grass while still very light and manoeuvrable.

First off, I have no issues with the mower. It's a great machine, with a lot of power, and a decent battery life. But I can't give it more than 3 stars because of my experience. I was in the market for a new mower, and this one seemed to fit the bill. Not only that, but it was nicely discounted (I think close to $180 IIRC). The only issue was that it was out of stock. Normally I would have found something else, but the seller was listed as Greenworks, and I couldn't pass up that discount. Since it allowed me to order anyway, with the promise I'd receive an email with a deliver date once it became in stock once more, I went for it. Two weeks later it was back in stock, but after an additional week I got no delivery date email. That's when I contacted Amazon customer service who reached out to the seller. She then informed me there was a delay at the warehouse. Okay, fine. A few days later I reached out to Greenworks CS myself. According to them there was no record of an order from me, and they asked for the order #. I responded with the order #, and a screenshot with all the details. Silence. I followed up the next day asking for guidance. Silence. At this point close to a month had passed since my original order and my lawn was getting out of control, so I cancelled the order, and sent in another order for the same mower. Keep in mind, this was now at full price, no discount. After 5 weeks since the initial order, I finally got my mower. Like I said, it works great, but losing that discount sucks, and the wasted time trying to get CS to help me out was rough as well. While I don't think the CS lady was lying about not having a record of the order, her lack of helpfulness after I provided the details really sticks out.
