I had read so many reviews before deciding to purchase, and I came to one conclusion from so many people writing bad reviews — you all don’t know how to cook! I have cooked fish, seared a steak, cooked scrambled eggs with cheese, poached an egg, fried bacon, made a bourbon reduction sauce with molasses and the consistent result from all these — everything was cooked to perfection and literally slid right out of the pan. I wanted to try these particular pans because for so long I’ve used Lodge cast iron pans. Don’t get me wrong my cast iron pans are amazing but the constant maintenance can be exhausting. The Hexclad pan is being promoted as a hybrid of stainless steel, the durability of cast iron, and completely non-stick. They didn’t disappoint. Plus they’re so much lighter than my cast iron skillets and cleanups are a breeze. Let me give anyone who reads this a few tips: #1 Follow the directions given in the package. #2 Please, put a buffer between what you’re cooking and the pan. I use beef tallow, lard, or ghee. And please whatever you do, stay away from seed oils. Not only are they extremely unhealthy for you but their high heat points can’t cut it like natural fats. #3 Cook on low to medium heat. You won’t be disappointed and you’ll be surprised at how well these pans heat up. #4 When using any stainless steel utensils, don’t dig into the pan or use a fork with the tines down scraping the bottom, or doing the same thing with a knife, or ….. you get the point. See what I did there? Point? And lastly #5 …… refer back to #2 and you won’t go wrong. Watching some of the videos where someone is cooking scrambled eggs without a buffer — what did you think was going to happen!? SMH Happy cooking! Update: I have used this pan for just about everything and I absolutely love it. It has literally became my favorite pan. Cooking is fun once again and the food tastes better. The ergonomics of the pan handle helps as it stays cool. But don’t put your pan in the oven at 500° and then grab it by the handle because your’re itching for a burn you don’t want. This pan is a little heavier than what most of you are use to with your Teflon pans; that’s because they’re made from quality materials. I am disappointed they’re made in China, but they are designed and planned here in the US. So the reason for writing this update is, and as I stated earlier, I really love this pan. So much so I purchased the complete set. Everyone has their own set of pans they love, and all I’m doing is giving you my two cents worth. As of right now 11.21.2024, Hexclad has their Black Friday sale. Check them out as you won’t be disappointed. Happy cooking!

Firstly, it’s the best cookware I’ve ever used and I’ve used many over the past 40 years. It’s not perfect, I’ll get to that. It handles high heat really well. It’s solid but not too heavy. My favorite thing about it is the ease of flipping eggs and pancakes due to the design shape of the edge. I use metal utensils with very little concern. I wash it in the dishwasher with no problem. The handle stays cool on the stove. The heat is very evenly spaced along the bottom. The bottom is nonstick which is a huge plus for me because my other pans look tore up on the bottom. It’s honestly my favorite pan and it inspires me to cook more. I wish I had more Hexclad. BTW, this isn’t a paid review or sponsored or anything. I paid full price for this pan. So, after all that, and under very close examination, after several uses, here is the rub: I am beginning to see wear to the anti stick coating in between the raised metal bumps. It’s very slight and I can see it won’t be a problem for several years however I do not believe it will last a lifetime. Time will tell.

This is the best frying pan I’ve ever used and I’ve tried a lot of non-stick, cast iron, and carbon steel pans. None of them work as well as this Hexclad 12 inch sauté pan. It heats up very fast, makes great sear on meats, cleans up easily, and you can use metal utensils on this pan. I will only be using Hexclad from now on.

I liked this pan so much a bought two more 8", 12" and a 13" deep sauted pan. They are oven safe except for the glass lids. They were on the pricey side but well worth it if you are cooking.

I've only used this pan a few times, but so far, I'm very happy. I followed the instructions for seasoning. I've cooked steak, chicken, lamb, and eggs at medium on a gas stove. The pan cooks as well as advertised and cleans up easily. There was an issue cooking eggs over easy, even after cooking bacon and hash browns first. I had not added any more oil or butter to the pan, and the eggs stuck. Still, the pan was cleaned up by just running hot water over it. I've just ordered the 10" wok. I purposely did not order a set because it contains pans that I would rarely use. The 10" frying pan and wok are good for me because I'm only cooking for 1 or 2 people. Overall, I would recommend Hexclad. The Costco-branded pans may be just as good, but I would rather pay the extra money and get something that will probably last longer.

If it's good for professional..... it's great for us. Very durable and well designed. Be sure to read the directions. This pan works well with medium heat; not high heat. No stick, no kidding. It is definitely an investment piece. Previously, I was buying inexpensive nonstick pans and using them for less than a year and then donating; the nonstick stops working. Looks like this is the last one to purchase. Do not hesitate. Gift it to your spouse for an occasion (I did). And it's in the household for you as well. Sneaky, but effective. Love it; recommend it highly. Go get yours now.

It's a good frying pan; it's not a great frying pan...particularly for the price. It stains easily which requires cleaning with an SOS pad (or similar) and some Bar Keepers Friend cleanser. There are probably better, more economical options on the market.

I absolutely love my set of HexClad hybrid pans! I added this one to complete a set I already had. They are definitely high quality, but note that they are heavier than your average non-stick or copper bottom skillet (but are not as heavy as the same size cast iron skillet). They are non-stick (without a potentially dangerous non-stick coating), they heat evenly, and can be used for searing meats with no worry about the pan warping if it gets too hot. I can use just a fraction of the normal amount of oil or butter without having food stick. Cleanup is so simple!

I wanted a larger non stick frying pan and decided on this one. It was pricey but is very good quality. Make sure to season as directed by the package insert. I did so and have used it many times now cooking eggs, chicken and pork. It heats pretty evenly for such a large pan and is easy to clean afterwards. The added dome lid is also very useful and is also of great quality. To be sure, it's expensive but after many uses I would say it is definitely worth the extra $.
