I had to replace my old icemaker and this is wat I chose. I love the fact that it has a pull out drawer instead of the open top, so that way it will fit nicer in where I have it. While the noice does not bother me, I do see where it can with some people if you are keeping it in a small space, but if it is in the kitchen you will be fine.

I have an icemaker in my refrigerator but it is in the door and it is smaller so I wanted to get an icemaker to compensate, mainly so we can make ice for parties and everyone can access it quicker with the scoop instead of waiting for cubes to drop out very slowly from a dispenser. This is a neat little unit; it does not take up much room on the counter. It is self-cleaning, takes about 15 minutes and it is suggested to run it 3 to 4 times so it can take 45 minutes to an hour to clean as per the recommendations. It is easy to clean though, just fill the water to the Max line and hold the start/pause button for 3 seconds--off it goes. When it is done with a cycle you have to move it over to the sink or a place to dump the water and pull out the drain plug on the bottom to empty. It suggests wiping with a cloth to get any residual water out, so I do the tank at the bottom but leave the bin open to air dry. When I used it the first time, I was caught unaware, filled it to Max but didn't wait for water to fill in the tank so I started it and it came up with a light to add water. I didn't know how much to add so I filled it to Max again and it spilled out. When you first pour water into an empty tank, wait until you do not hear it draining in anymore before you start to make ice. I go for the small setting and in about 6 minutes or so it dumped out the first batch and it may have been enough for one glass. It took about 2.5 hours to fill the bin. It has a sensor to know when it is full and stop making ice and conversely when ice has been taken, it will make more to refill the bin. Overall, this a good machine and nice if you want additional ice, but here are a couple of things that I reduced a star for. It is a bit louder than I expected. I have it on our kitchen counter and it is loud but not too loud that I cannot take it or feel the need to move it (just yet). Secondly, the instructions state if you move it or angle it too much you have to wait 6 hours to use it. That seems quite a penalty to move it. Lastly, I was expecting the small ice cubes to be smaller than they were. Outside of those two things I really like everything else about it.

Used it to make ice daily for a month while waiting for our new refrigerator to arrive. We were impressed and well satisfied with this ice machine!

Nice machine. Too bad the drawer is plastic and looks breakable, so be careful if you have rough and careless people at home. This product is perfect for small places.

We wanted to get a small ice maker for our bar area in the kitchen. Our freezer has an ice maker, but the ice tends to get stale, as it sits there over time. We also wanted something that we could move out of the way if we needed the space, and something that didn’t need a water hookup. This checks all of the boxes for us. It’s small and compact, but it produced ice quite quickly. I think they say 6 minutes, but we were getting ice faster than that. The other cool thing is that as long as you keep adding water, it will just keep adding ice. Now, if you have a lot of people this may not keep up, but for smaller gatherings, of, say, 20 people or so, when not everyone is getting a drink at the same time, this keeps up splendidly. We tested it when we had a number of people over for a football game recently. The ice isn’t “pebble” ice, but it is soft and easily chewed. For some of us, this is a plus, as we like to chew to softer ice. Still, it doesn’t melt too quickly, and the smaller pieces tend to chill the drink better. Cleaning is also pretty easy. They don’t recommend it, but I imagine you could run vinegar through the system if you have hard water and want to keep the scale build up to a minimum. Overall, this has been a pleasant addition to our kitchen. We’ve used it a few times now, and it’s been working well. This would also be nice for a small apartment, or any area where space is at a premium. I’d definitely recommend it.

I have a traditional counter top ice maker that we used a lot for parties. By traditional, I mean it fills from the top and it is heavy. You need room on your counter between the counter and the cupboards above it, so for me, I had to pull it out to get the clearance above it to fill and remove ice. This ice maker caught my eye because of the space saving feature, as well as the drawer element for filling and removing. The ice itself is identical to my old machine; cone shaped in two sizes. I use the larger size because there is no insulation in the machine to keep the ice from melting, so I use the bigger size for a little safeguard if I don't get it out quick enough. It works pretty much the same as my other machine, with the exception of filling the tray rather than the machine itself. The water dumps down into a reservoir, then pumps up to the cooling spikes which form the ice. Then the ice drops into the empty tray. I will say the water capacity is smaller, but that fits with the more compact design. And in reality you're doing the same thing as with other models anyway, which is just filling with water and dumping.the ice in the freezer. Don't expect to just set it to make ice and walk away and think it will be there waiting for you, frozen and ready. Any countertop ice maker requires the same amount of attention to it, with filling and dumping frequently. Any melting of the ice will drip down into the reservoir to be pumped up to make more ice. Overall, I do like it more for the compact design and it's easier to fill than my old one.

Leaks from the bottom and makes a mess when you have to pull the drawer out to get ice. Draw sticks, its not very user friendly. You have to use both hands to pull out the drawer and push it back in. And you have to pull out the tray to fill the tank with water, it leaks out while your filling up the drawer. Its not a very good design at all. I originally bought it based on how sleek it looked, but sadly it doesn't work well.

The machine probably works fine, but we were looking for a larger capacity. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but the ice making rate was equal to our old machine. Nonetheless we returned it.

After only 2 days the plastic water holder leaks.
