I had bought some Laura Geller makeup and I love it. On her website, she has Julep eyeshadow, so I tried that, too. This is great stuff! It goes on smoothly, no creases, stays on all day and feels weightless. I have bought 2 pencils so far, and can honestly see myself getting many more colors. Best choice ever.

Pros: Super easy to use. The eyeshadow literally glides on very easily with zero drag. Immediate color payoff and for shades that really show up on your skin, you need just one swipe. This part is definitely way better than the cheaper options (I've tried one other brand which was a fourth of the cost but is rough on my lids and requires a lot of back and forth to give me the same color payoff). They last long. I have not seen any issues with color fading through the day with these. Perfect for travel. I love throwing a couple of shades in my make up pouch without having to worry about packing a palette (and worrying about it opening and spilling all over) or brushes. Cons: As with any other make up product of course, some colors just don't match the payoff you see in advertised photos. Which wouldn't be as much of a problem if these weren't $15+ per eyeshadow. I have four colors - the Smoky Tawny Matte and Ochre Matte barely show up on my lids. Although the advertised photos show color pay off on darker lids, I personally find it much lighter than the photos on mine (I have the typical south asian dark lids). Orchid shimmer and Sheer blush pink look amazing on my lids. Looks like the shimmer shades definitely help add some dimension to any base colored lids. Personally the pros outweigh the cons for me and I love this product! I'll still use the shades that didn't give a lot of payoff for everyday looks. I use very few colors on my eyes so I'd much rather save money and buy more of these eyeshadow sticks than expensive palettes where I'll use maybe 2 out of 10-15 colors.

I have the Julep Eyeshadow Sticks in a variety of colors and love them — both the shimmer and the matte. They go on easily, and are both blendable and buildable — the built-in smudger works beautifully. The only color so far that is not true to the photo is Ginger Matte, which is darker than it appears. I especially love the smoky amethyst and sand shimmer, and the stone matte sticks.

I'm in my 50's, dont want to put a lot of time into my makeup, cant see well enough anymore to do it like I used to anyway, and struggle to find products/formulations that work well with mature skin. Sadly, makeup (for the eye especially) just simply doesn't look/sit right after a certain age unless you're willing to put a lot of time into it. These eye sticks solve ALL those issues. They sweep on quickly, blend out easily to a more sheer color and/or layer for more pigment, and don't settle into lines. So far, it has lasted me all day (for the record, I normally do not wear any skin care under my makeup which may affect the blend-ability and wear. I also do not wear concealer or primer and have combo skin). Normally, I'd stay away from shimmers at my age but these blend out so nicely to a sheer that the shimmer is fresh/pretty and not overwhelming. The matte white is really nice on the brow bone and inner corners. Again, easily blends out sheer so it doesn't look "white" just well rested. I find that you cant really accidentally apply too much of this product as it blends out so well. I initially ordered 2 colors and loved them so much that I'm now up to 12, recommend them to all my friends and just ordered some for my 80yr old mother. My ONLY complaint is that they don't currently have a dark brown/cocoa/mocha in Matte. Why when its kind of a staple color?

I've been wanting to try this brand shadow stick for ages, but couldn't justify the price. It went on sale and I finally took the plunge, I have to say I was disappointed. The whole appeal of a shadow stick is its supposed to be budge proof. This creased almost immediately and doesn't last through the day. It does apply very nicely; no tugging and very smooth. It just doesn't perform. I won't buy again.

This is not metallic. The shimmer is more subtle and when blended it looks great. It does take a little practice because the cream turns to powder in about 30 seconds, but once it is on it stays put. I usually use in the crease and blend up and down using the blending tip. Also, follow their directions. If you prime the blender tip before using it is easier to use. If you mess up and need a do over, you will have to use an eye make-up remover. The wipes don't work as well and something like baby oil should be reserved for removing everything at night. This color blends well with champagne shimmer on the upper and/or lower part of your lid. So far, I have purchased the cocoa, bronze, champagne, and pearl shades and love all of them. Sometimes I just run the champagne shimmer across my whole lid when I am in a hurry and need a little brightener.

Like how it goes on, lasts all day, great color. Instead of using the blending sponge on the stick I used one of my brushes & found it blended great. A number of reviewers noted that it's difficult to remove. I use Micellar Water for all my makeup removal & found it worked quite well on this shadow. Disappointed I can't get some other colors I want or they're very expensive in comparison to the "Stone" color. I looked around on Amazon and found a similar product "Palladio" which from the reviews seems similar to Julep at a much lower price. I'm going to purchase from them & see how their product fairs in comparison.

Upper eye shadow

Easy to apply and stays put all day with no smearing. I use the taupe shimmer. It is a subtle shimmer and suitable for any occasion. I use it everyday and hope it never goes out of stock.
