We use gas heat and cooking so we figured we needed something like this to go with our smoke detectors. It "tested" good enough, is small enough not to stick out and seemed to be as discribed.

Realized we didn't have carbon monoxide detectors in our home, so purchased these. Gives peace of mind that we'll be alerted if ever necessary. Put one downstairs and one upstairs. Easy. One less thing to worry about for now.

This is my second one, got it because the first one was pretty old, battery was getting low.

As it is battery operated it can be more suitably located than the elecxtric plug-in type
