Customers find the gas smoke fire alarm easy to install and use. It works well as a carbon monoxide detector and has clear instructions. They consider it a quality product with a good warranty. Many customers appreciate the battery backup feature in case of power outages. The carbon monoxide detector is also appreciated for its safety. However, opinions differ on the noise level.

Product Description

· Easy Installation - simply plug-in to a standard, 120V outlet in your home · 2-AA battery backup provides protection during a power outage · 85-decibel alarm announces when carbon monoxide is detected · Peak Level Memory records the last time carbon monoxide was detected or when the unit was last tested · Test-Hush Button makes testing the detector or silencing false alarms easy · End of life chirp notifies you when the alarm needs to be replaced · UL listed with a 10-Year limited manufacturer warranty on the alarm only (not a battery performance claim). Warranty begins when the alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it should be assumed that replacement is needed.

The Kidde Carbon Monoxide Detector is a must-have for any home. Easy to install—just plug it in—and the backup AA battery ensures it works even during power outages. The test-hush button is super convenient for checking the unit or silencing false alarms. It’s sleek, reliable, and provides peace of mind knowing my family is protected from carbon monoxide risks.

So easy to set up - peace of mind knowing this is near the furnace room in case of any malfunctions with the boiler. Love that it comes with the batteries. Satisfied so far!

I bought two of these items, one for each floor of our house. Both came with two AA batteries installed but insulated from the contacts. One of the units worked fine after installing it according to the directions, but the other signaled that its batteries were low as soon as it was plugged into an AC outlet. Fortunately, I had spare AA batteries that were in the list of batteries that could be used and was able to successfully replace the weak batteries.

Bought 2 of these. Super easy to install…just plug in. Hopefully I never have to hear it go off but it is good to have just in case.

This simple CO detector is so easy to install; just plug it into an electrical outlet. It does not block the second outlet if you plug it into the lower outlet, and the plug can be rotated so it can be used in horizontal or vertical outlets. It comes with 2 AA batteries (for backup in case the power goes off) protected by a plastic strip so they don't run down before it's sold. Just slide the battery cover off and remove the thin plastic strip, slide the cover back on, plug it in, and press the test/reset button. The alarm sound is four loud tones followed by a pause and then four more. The instructions say don't install it in a bathroom or near a heat vent or heat-producing appliance. Mine is in a wall outlet in my bedroom. With a natural gas forced air furnace and a gas water heater I decided this was worth the low cost for carbon monoxide protection. Like most people, I have separate smoke detectors but they don't check for carbon monoxide, which is odorless and colorless.

Purchased to replace an identical unit that had reached its end of life. Works as intended.
