Play Video I didn’t think this chunky thing would work this great. It’s heavy, pricey and uses batteries but it works flawlessly. All you do is set it in top, press the button and it does its magic. The can lid came off so smooth. No jagged edges at all. No more cutting your fingers. It’s so safe I would let a child use it under supervision. Only thing is I wish it was rechargeable and didn’t require so many batteries.

It is excellent. Exactly as described. Does not require any effort at all. The can opener takes care of it all itself. The design and engineering has been very well thought through. It is a delight as it opens a can with the best efficiency you could think of, very cleanly and safely, and within no time.

I have been struggling trying to find a good can opener. I have developed arthritis in my hands and manual can openers cause me a great deal of pain. I don't have enough room on my counters to house an electric can opener and they are not particularly attractive anyway. I purchased a different battery operated can opener from Amazon about 6 months ago and although it was a little wonky, it worked until it simply died for no reason. I looked at reviews on Amazon for this can opener and others, and reviews from other cooking sites because I simply had to replace the one that died. After reading the Amazon reviews, I had some concerns about this one, but on other sites, this was definitely a top pick, so despite the cost and mixed Amazon reviews, I decided to give it a try. It's larger than the other battery operated one I had previously but better balanced and has a much smoother operation. It fits easily into my kitchen drawer. It does a great job on medium and small cans, but I have not had an opportunity to try it on large or really small (tomato paste) cans. I expect it will work fine with those as well. The previous battery operated can opener I used had a sharp blade that would cut into the label so you had to pick little bits of label out of the contents. I'm so happy this does not do that! It seems to have a really good opening mechanism. Some reviews complained it was too slow. I have not found that at all. Some reviews complained that you had to use a Dremel or something to modify the battery compartment to allow them to connect. I did not find that at all, and the batteries pop in tightly but without trouble. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and grateful for the ease of operation. I hope it will last longer than 6 months, unlike the other. We will see.

When it did not seem to work properly, I complained and wrote to the company, and they were very responsive to my questions and concerns. I think most of the problem was that the instructions and/or manual was not clear enough. Therefore I couldn't get it to clearly open a can. I would now advise the company to be explicit about the surprises a customer might experience straight up, and up front. It DOES work in a way very different from what we're used to in can openers. In any case, when I saw a video of a person's hands using the product, and actually lifting the lid, I saw it actually did work. By then we'd begun to return and refund. If I were to buy it again, I think I'd like a corded model rather than battery power. I 1st wrote: Would have liked it if it worked, but it did NOT open a can 1st time I used it...etc., etc. If you purchase this, find the how-to video as I think that will help you see how it works!

This can opener is great. Place it as directed on the top of can, press start button and away it goes. No sharp edges that can cut you finger when lifting lid off can when opener is done. It does require room to rotate around the can lid but not an issue to operation. I have arthritis and can not use hand operated openers and this one requires no hand strength. Great purchase.
