I bought my house not that long ago..2 going on 3 years. The builders obviously do what they do and "cut" corners. The toilet base in itself was never the issue but the white painted wood toilet seats.. yes I said wood toilet seats were atrocious. They were so difficult to maintain a good clean.. no amount of cleaning could save those from eventually smell and staining. So I decided to finally replace them with a MUCH more sanitary and easier maintenence option. I bought 2 of these toilet seats one for each bathroom and not only was the install super easy, they match perfectly color and size wise. Definitely soft close lid - which is great in the middle of the night lol. I'm glad it) made the switch. Well worth it.

This slow-close seat is at a reasonable price in comparison to others available. It’s light construction, but adequately sturdy. Installation was quick and easy and it fits the standard bowl well. There is some play in the seat-to-cover hinge and that movement may be why the seat bolt loosened slightly within a few weeks (easily retightened). As others noted, the opening is a little larger with a thinner ring so it might not be the best choice for young children. Larger human beings might want a seat with more substance. The seat material is easily cleaned.

We need to replace wood seats in an AirBnb because wood seats discolor from frequent cleaning with bleach based cleaners. Some plastic seats are flimsy and feel cheap, especially with larger people but this seat is rigid and strong. This seat has soft plastic inserts where the seat meets the bowl so the seat is less likely to slip during use and is quiet when closing. The soft close works perfectly - can't live without soft close seats! We will be replacing all our seats with this model. This plastic seat is sturdy, looks good at a great price and is what you expect from a Kohler product.

This is the first toilet seat I’ve ever replaced myself and it was easy! Product is great quality, makes maintenance simple, and the soft close is an added bonus. Great buy!

This toilet seat was easy to install. The lid is made of plastic and is a little flexible; a heavy person standing on it (e.g., to reach a light bulb) could cause some damage. However, it seems that most toilet seats - at least the slow-close kind - are made of plastic these days, so I won't hold that against it. Note that in real life, the white color of this seat is a blinding bright white. That is not what I expected from the photo, and does not match my off-white toilet. But I'm not returning it because I don't know of a reliable way to color-match without hauling the old seat into a Home Depot, which I do not want to do.

Money well spent for such a small thing. I never knew how much I would appreciate a toilet seat softly closing. HA. I am also shocked with how easy it is to replace a toilet seat. Just two screws basically. And toilet feels like a brand new toilet (along with replacing the toilet tank lever). Instant gratification. Changed out two lids on two different toilets in 30 minutes. And most of that time was getting the old seat off and cleaning the area before installing the new one. Note: this seat comes in two styles and the first order we ordered the wrong one. There is another option that has a bevel-style lid design, which isn’t bad, but it just looks dated. This style feels more modern, since it’s just a flat lid design. Also, we ordered white but it turns out we needed the Biscuit color. So make sure to check your color before ordering as best you can. So far, so good!

I like these toilet seats a lot because the installation of both was simple and pretty straight forward. I had the wooden slow-close type of seats previously and I really loved them except that since they were painted they were a pain to keep the underside clean and you couldn't use any cleaning product with bleach on them. These seats feel a little flimsy to me. Perhaps I just need to get used to them? They do close slowly, and to me, a little too slowly. Perhaps because they are more lightweight? Initially one of the Kohler toilet seats made a high-pitched squeaking sound the entire time it was closing. Very strange because only the one in the guest bathroom does it, the one in the master bath makes no noises whatsoever. If I shift it makes a squeaking noise; which is kind of embarrassing to me, but my cats don't seem to mind it. *LOL* Update: Perhaps it needed a brief break-in period because the squeal as it closes has ceased. I'm really happy about that!

Easy to install. Was a little squeaky for the first week or two but now is quiet. Correct size and easy to clean.
