I recently had the pleasure of trying Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee, and it has quickly become one of my favorite coffee beans. Lavazza, a brand renowned for its quality and tradition, has truly outdone itself with this exceptional product. Aroma and Freshness: Upon opening the bag, I was immediately struck by the rich, inviting aroma. The scent was a blend of roasted nuts, caramel, and a hint of sweetness, promising a delightful brewing experience. The beans were visibly fresh and roasted to perfection, indicative of Lavazza’s commitment to quality. Flavor Profile: The flavor profile of Lavazza Super Crema is complex and well-balanced. From the first sip, I noticed a smooth, creamy texture with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The coffee has rich notes of honey, almonds, and dried fruit, complemented by undertones of dark chocolate and caramel. This delightful combination makes for a very satisfying and nuanced cup of coffee, whether enjoyed black or with milk. Roast Level: Lavazza Super Crema is a medium roast, which I found to be ideal for bringing out the beans’ natural flavors without any overwhelming bitterness. The roast level is perfect for those who appreciate a full-bodied coffee that is both rich and smooth. It’s versatile enough to be enjoyed by a wide range of coffee drinkers. Grind and Brew: I experimented with various brewing methods, including pour-over, French press, and espresso. The beans performed exceptionally well across all methods. In the French press, the coffee was full-bodied and robust, highlighting the creamy mouthfeel. As an espresso, Lavazza Super Crema truly shined, delivering a thick, velvety crema and a balanced shot that was both rich and smooth. The consistency of the grind was excellent, making it easy to achieve a perfect brew each time. Sustainability and Sourcing: Lavazza’s commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing is another reason to love this coffee. The Super Crema blend is sourced from top coffee-growing regions, including Brazil, Colombia, India, and Vietnam. Lavazza supports fair trade practices and works to ensure that their beans are sustainably sourced, adding an extra layer of satisfaction to each cup. Packaging: The packaging of Lavazza Super Crema is both attractive and functional. The resealable bag helps to maintain the beans’ freshness over time, and the design reflects Lavazza’s dedication to quality and tradition. The label includes helpful tasting notes and brewing suggestions, which I found very informative. Value: In terms of value, Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee offers excellent quality at a reasonable price. The rich flavor, freshness, and versatility of these beans make them a great investment for anyone who loves high-quality coffee. Whether for daily brewing or special occasions, these beans deliver a consistently exceptional cup of coffee. Conclusion: Overall, Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee is a standout product that has earned a permanent place in my coffee collection. The rich, balanced flavor, combined with the brand’s commitment to quality and sustainability, makes this coffee a joy to drink. I highly recommend Lavazza Super Crema to any coffee lover looking for a premium, flavorful, and ethically sourced coffee. Lavazza continues to uphold its reputation for excellence, and this product is a testament to their expertise and dedication.

Purchased this coffee after seeing it hyped on several websites. For reference, my daily cup is a double espresso shot with a splash of almond milk. Crema: The crema is solid and very lovely! But compared to other coffees I've tried, it's only a small step up than others. Not sure it warrants the 'super crema' in the name based on this. Flavor profile: This is a very palatable coffee. It tastes more like a medium-light roast and it's very easy drinking with a smooth finish (not bitter at all). It seems it would be the perfect roast to have on hand if you had company and weren't sure their coffee preference. A crowd pleaser for sure. Overall: As someone who typically enjoys darker, more robust roasts, this was still an enjoyable cup but was a bit too mild for my personal preferences. However, if you love a more middle of the road light roast, this will be perfect for you!

Update (+2 Stars): After a few days of the coffee airing out in my grinder and also changing my grind from medium to coarse (highest setting on my OXO Grinder), the coffee seems to taste significantly better when brewed and the unpleasant smell has dissipated. I'm increasing my rating of the coffee for this reason, as it actually is good enough to be a daily drink for me at this point, but I still don't believe the price is worth it as you can purchase from a local roaster or have a higher quality coffee subscription for around this price, so I likely won't be buying it again unless it goes down closer to $9/pound. That said, I'm definitely glad now that I'll be able to enjoy it in the meantime. Original Review: I tried this coffee this morning, as I didn't want to keep paying the high price for the coffee I normally bought from a local roaster, but honestly it's regrettably not that great. I wish that I had read the description better to see that it was 40% robusta coffee beans, because it is definitely lacking 40% of the flavor that I'd rather it have, and while I do feel a big caffiene punch from it, that's about it. It's oddly weak-tasting, even when brewed strong. It's a little tiny bit chocolatey/hazelnutty like the description says, and it's very fruity, but two qualities in coffee I don't care much for are excessive (unbalanced) fruitiness or acidity. This one does pass the acidity aspect (it's a bit more on the bitter side, but pleasantly bitter if that makes sense), but yeah, it's definitely not a coffee I'd serve anyone. I don't have an espresso machine, so I just tried this as pour-over coffee in a V90, but it ain't good and I'm not buying it again. It may be good for cold brew or espresso -- it DOES taste like cold brew I've gotten at a coffee shop before -- but not for pour-over coffee. Also, some people say that they LOVED the smell of this coffee as soon as they opened the bag, but I had the exact opposite experience. It smells like that overwhelming almost burnt smell that you smell in some coffee shops (the ones that serve cold brew and have a sealed concreet floor). IF that is the kind of coffee you like, more power to you!! This probably is a roast that will satisfy people who prefer robusta beans or just want the hit of caffeine, but it just isn't mine. Positives: - Bitter but not TOO bitter -- much better than coffee which is overly acidic - Was roasted recently (September 2024 -- bought in December 2024) - The flavors they say will be there -- hazelnut, chocolate, and fruit -- are indeed there Negatives: - It tastes very weak, even when brewed strong - The fruitiness flavor is very dominant -- it's not well-balanced in this aspect - Smells like the smell I can't stand in most coffee shops - 40% robusta beans and yet priced like 100% arabica coffee blends

Super consigliato!

This is beautiful coffee, perhaps the best crema-type coffee I have tasted. It is full-bodied and very smooth crema coffee. I make my coffee in a Moka pot, and I have had 2 cups of this coffee today. What more can I say?
