This is everything that I wanted it’s a fast very reliable laptop perfect for writing!

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, introduced in the summer of 2023, is by far the best Chromebook value, and in some ways, it is the best Chromebook. It doesn't have the premium feel, backlit keyboard and processing power of the Lenovo Flex 5i. But under $200, you get a near ideal Chromebook. It has a matte IPS touch display that is fantastic at this price point (seriously, most Chromebooks under $200 are not this sharp and have glossy screens). The keyboard is so close to Lenovo's ideal. It has decent feel and springy action, just not Thinkpad level action. It's good enough (and you can easily connect your preferred keyboard and desktop monitor at home). The ARM processor works really well with Chrome OS. Things can get sluggish when you have a lot of browser tabs open, but the majority of users are going to like the performance. Better still, ARM processors don't need fans, so this Chromebook is fanless! And that all adds up to fantastic batttery life. I get over 10 hours per charge. The whole thing is makde of quality plastic, but I don't mind. It is easy to charge with a 50 Watt or above USB-C charger. It is a total road warrior, just small enough to use in your lap on a flight or on an Amtrak seat tray. And it has full software support through June 2023. June 2033! That is impressive. So if you can hold on to this one, you don't have to get another Chrome or Google-based device until Chrome OS is well into its next era (which might be a flavor of Android). All of this for under $200? It is great for students as well as those who need a Chromebook to supplement their windows, Mac or linux notebook and focus on personal tasks. For me, that's blogging and streaming media. This is my primary personal computing device.

works fine so far. the mouse is just ok. a better mouse would make it 5 stars.

Perfect for basic online shopping/bill paying / Netflix watching… would recommend.
