I bought two of these as the price was perfect, and I see no physical or cosmetic differences when compared to buying a new one. All features work well, setup was easy, and all installation materials were included. Another reviewer mentioned using the QR code directly on the back of the device (behind the mounting plate) during setup, and I can confirm they are right. I was also having trouble using the code that came on the sticker on the box. But when I used the code on the back of the device, it connected immediately. We're long-time ring customers with multiple cameras and their security system, and we couldn't be happier. Update: Purchased my third certified refurb to replace an older spotlight cam plus, so far its been great and no damage noticed on the refurb unit.

Easy and fast to setup. Last one lasted 2 years and developed WIFI connection issues and had to replace with the newer model. Works great and not prohibitively expensive to replace.

Bought this primarily to keep an eye on the antics of all the wildlife in our backyard. I was a little leery after reading the reviews that mentioned the refurbished versions not being recognized by the Ring app, and I did have that problem too. But when I tried the solution offered by one of the other purchasers - scan the original barcode actually inside the unit instead of the sticker attached to the outside of the unit when "reconditioned" as it says to do in the instructions - the camera was recognized immediately and connected to my system. I bought a second battery because I know these draw a lot of power, and so far it looks like it's using about 20% of a battery a week so I expect I'll get 10 weeks of usage (in a cold environment) with two batteries before they need to be changed. When it gets warmer I'll add a solar panel and maybe I won't have to change batteries at all.

I already have five ring cameras and multiple sensors installed at a property. We needed to replace Spotlight Cam Plus with this Pro version. The Pro device failed detection during setup. Battery fully charged, tried dozens of times, no success. I guessed perhaps it was due to this unit being refurbished. I called Amazon Customer Service, the agent promised to replace with a brand new unit, but it was a blatant lie. I received another refurbished unit, and again it failed to detect during setup. I called Amazon again, the agent didn't have a clue, and after 25mins of time wasting, he recommended me to call Ring tech support. I did, and wasted another hour with a Ring tech doing basic troubleshooting, restarting, resetting, re-installing Ring app, using iPad, etc. Eventually the tech advised me to return the second unit. I couldn't find a MAC address on both defective units, which is odd. If they really don't have MAC addresses, it explains why detection failed, but begs the question how they left the factory without a MAC address.

A previous buyer was absolutely right about this refurb unit. The QR code(20577) outside of the battery cover doesn't match with the "true" QR code(67075) hidden behind the reversible mounting plate. This causes the connection issue between the cam and the app. You need to slide off the mounting plate, and scan the code(67075) below the USB-C charging port. It connects fine after that. I think this is due to the fact that the refurb units had QR codes scrambled and mixed up when they were restocked for purchases.

Camera works great, did find out the Gen 1 Solar Panel doesn't adequately charge this version of camera, bought a Gen 2 Solar panel and it charges fine!

Easy to install. Warning, depending your sensitivity this camera can eat up your battery quickly. I adjusted the settings and use two batteries. Helps. Overall a good addition to my security system.

Not any different than the previous version. Light not bright, hard to see images at night.
