Product Description
· YOUR GO-TO DUTCH OVEN: A flawless pairing of form and function that doesn't quit. The Lodge Dutch Oven not only makes your kitchen look good but is an enameled cast iron classic great for preparing and serving memorable meals. Broil, braise, bake or roast your favorite meals in the oven up to 500 Degree F. · WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON. It is glass that becomes bonded to the cast iron at high temperatures. A particulate of glass, called frit, is applied to the cast iron vessel and then baked at temperatures between 1200 and 1400° F. The glass frit melts and fuses to the cast iron, forming a bond. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is heat tolerant and impervious to water and other consumables. · EASY TO COOK AND CLEAN: The porcelain enameled interior has a smooth finish that minimizes sticking, promotes caramelization and resists staining. Although enameled cast iron is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to keep your Dutch Oven in tip top shape · HEAT RETENTION: The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating throughout both the bottom and sidewalls. The tightly fitting lid seals in moisture for scrumptious pot roast, stews or a large batch of beans. Our heat retention also reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking. · FAMILY-OWNED. Lodge is more than just a business; it’s a family. The Lodge family founded the company in 1896, and they still own it today. From environmental responsibility to community development, their heads and hearts are rooted in America. Good sturdy enameled cast iron. I’ve used this Dutch oven at least 20 times since purchasing. Lamb shanks, chilli slow roasted shredded beef etc. This pot works great and is very sturdy. It’s thick and heavy and has a nice outer coating. I got the red one and it looks just like the images. I would say to try to clean this as soon as possible to prevent staining but it’s going to happen regardless. Overall, it’s been great to cook with and looks good too.

This is my fist dutch oven ever and I am over 50 years old. I love the teal color, it is more blue than green. Very good quality, no chipping, heavy pot and lid. You can brown the meat on the stovetop and then place in the oven. It cooks the food evenly and thoroughly. I made a beef bourguignon stew the first time and it is now my spouse's new favorite dish. The dutch oven locks in the flavors and everything I have made comes out so tender, not mushy like when using a crockpot. It is so easy to clean too! You do need to let it cool before washing. It says that in the instructions, but I wanted to mention it in my post. This is a must-buy for the Fall comfort-food season.

This is a great Dutch oven. I baked a loaf of bread in it and it came out perfect. It’s cast iron, so it’s heavy, but it bakes so evenly. Much cheaper than other brands but quality is all there. And the color options are amazing!

I've always wanted a Dutch Oven and I've been cooking for myself and/or family for over 50 years! I finally decided I was going to get one and read a lot of reviews for different brands. Knowing that Lodge was a leader in cast iron, I decided on this one. I don't like uncoated cast iron, but with the enameling on this one I figured it would be OK. The Dutch Oven arrived in perfect condition, no chips or problems of any kind. I've used it multiple times now and it does a fantastic job on the top of my gas stove and goes right into the oven, cleans up with ease - I couldn't be happier! Two things, it IS heavy particularly when full of food and I did keep the little rubber spacers to place back on the edge of the pot then put the lid on (upside-down, takes up less room) for storage. This avoids any possible future chips I think. If you can manage the weight, this is a wonderful addition to the kitchen.

Really heavy dutch oven - but it exactly what my husband wanted to bake bread in. Great color, very sturdy, bakes great bread, washes like a dream.

I bought the 6 quart Dutch oven in the oyster white color. It is a beautiful quality Dutch oven. The lid is tight and not as heavy as the Le Creuset ovens. The inside bottom width is 8" wide and the top of the pot is 10.5" wide. The bottom has enough space to sear meats and add plenty of tomatoes, peppers and broth or water to make a delicious beef or chicken stew for several days. The flavors remain inside the pot because the lid is tight. I only use it on top of the electric stove. I don't use it in the oven. I hand wash the pot with Mr. Eraser original sponge, rinse it with clean water and dry it with a soft microfiber cloth. Don't use any abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals to keep your pot in good condition. I love the pot and highly recommend this pot for such a great price. Hope my review helps. Happy cooking! :-)

I've been using this for a few years and I can't imagine a time when it wasn't a go-to cooking tool. I use it for all kinds of recipes, and it works as a skillet with high walls, as well as a pot for soups or pasta dishes that require lots of movement within the pan. I've also used it for braising in the oven. Along with my cast-iron skillet, this has become one of my most versatile kitchen tools. I've also given this as a gift before, as the bright red finish gives it as much aesthetic appeal as it has utility. The only critique I have is that there are some spots along the rim where the enamel is chipping and cracking. But they are only minor and as long as they don't get worse or lead to rust on the cast iron, it won't be a concern.

I recently purchased the Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, and it has quickly become my favorite kitchen companion. This versatile piece of cookware is truly a game-changer for home cooking. The first thing that impressed me was its incredible heat performance. With the ability to withstand temperatures up to 500°F, I can broil, braise, bake, or roast virtually anything13. The heat distribution is remarkable—it evenly heats throughout the bottom and sidewalls, ensuring perfectly cooked meals every time3. The porcelain enamel coating is a standout feature. Applied at extremely high temperatures, this glass-based coating creates a smooth, non-stick surface that makes cooking and cleaning a breeze23. I've noticed it promotes beautiful caramelization and resists staining, which is a huge plus for someone who loves to cook. What I appreciate most is its versatility. Whether I'm making a hearty stew, a tender pot roast, or a batch of beans, the tightly fitting lid seals in moisture perfectly3. The light-colored interior is also fantastic—it makes it easy to monitor browning and develop a rich fond3. Compared to more expensive brands like Le Creuset, the Lodge offers exceptional performance at a fraction of the price13. It's durable, easy to use, and has quickly become my go-to pot for almost every cooking method. The only minor drawback is that the base is slightly smaller than some high-end models, which can make browning large batches of meat a bit more challenging3. However, this is a small trade-off for such an excellent piece of cookware. I would absolutely reorder this Dutch oven without hesitation. It's a kitchen workhorse that combines style, performance, and value in one fantastic package.

This Dutch Oven is a good size to have for stews, soups and for frying. I purchased it especially to use for frying, since I didn't want to overuse my Le Creuset Dutch Oven, which would be very expensive to replace. This is a very heavy pot though, so I keep it on my stove most of the time. It's a great value for the quality.

I purchased the 6qt enameled dutch oven in Caribbean Blue and am extremely happy with it. I have used it on the stove top and in the oven. This is the first enameled dutch oven that I have owned but I do own several other cast iron dutch ovens, mainly for camping and bread. Pros: looks great - the blue is very similar to the Le Creuset that I have good size for family off-white interior makes it easy to see what you are cooking retains heat very well cleans up easily great value for the money! heavy because it is cast iron, but not too heavy good fitting lid can handle high temperatures nice big handles good heat distribution Cons: I would have liked a less round bottom to increase cooking surface, but this really isn't a big problem. If you want a good sized, attractive enameled dutch oven and don't want to pay a premium price for a Le Creuset or a Staub, I can heartily recommend this Lodge!
