I started to buy this Advent calendar to keep the tradition going for my son at Christmas time even though he is older. I found it on Amazon because I didn't want to buy the cheap candy store ones that you get at the local pharmacy stores. Yes, it is a little pricier but you're paying for exclusive chocolate. I'm thinking it is a small business, and I have to say I'm so glad I stumbled upon it. It's absolutely delicious and the size of the chocolates in each Square is quite large! I turn the box around and I discovered it's made in Rockaway Beach New York! That was a double bonus for me because growing up I spent all my Summers living in Rockaway Beach and have very fond memories of doing so! So now I am doubly impressed and happy to buy these chocolates : )

I picked this up after a year-or-to have dealing with the cheaper chocolate calendars and was more than satisfied. The chocolate was nicely formed and had a decent quality...so much better than those basic ones. The printing on the calendar was well done and the doors were easy enough to open. I'll be keeping these in mind for next year's season

Nov 2014 I ordered this item from Amazon for around $12.00 because of the high star ratings and the heavier chocolate weight of 8oz versus 2 oz in other lesser priced paper type calendars. We tacked it to a kiddos wall and every day they opened a little paper door that revealed an adorably gift wrapped chocolate cube that tasted good. The product stuck out from the wall a bit, maybe a half inch or an inch. The doors have little rhymes, sayings on the back of them. Today they offer this product for $11.66 They offer a 12 pack of these advent calendars for $98.96 ($8.25 each) which is worth it for a whole month of cozy home sweet home holiday adorableness for a 12 pack of grandkids. They sell 8oz / 24 pieces of those adorable little giftwrapped chocolates titled as Gourmet Holiday Chocolates for $8.06 (which is $0.34 each) Or 2lb / 96 pieces of Gourmet Holiday Chocolates for $26.96 (which is $0.28 cents each) If you want to buy those adorable gift block chocolates to put into a different advent calendar. This company offers a few other styles of tiny adorably wrapped chocolates. Based on what's available to buy on a dozen websites and local stores, this is a great product for the price that the kids loved. Sturdy, nice artwork, quality chocolate taste.

The chocolate is good, But four stars, because there's nothing to look forward to each day as far as variety and surprise. Every chocolate is exactly the same. Just a small cube of milk chocolate. I ended up pulling out the tray and just taking one each day without searching for the correct corresponding day. What's the point when each one is exactly the same as the next?! The little poems on the inside of each door are cute, though.

Sent to our son per a 20 year tradition and he called to say the 1st day had a “nice sized” piece of chocolate- bigger than he usually gets in an Advent calendar!

My kids all agree that this is the best chocolate Advent calendar. The chocolate is delicious and they come in a variety of sizes. The problem we had was that some of the chocolate pieces came out of their hole so when the door was opened, there was no chocolate. It was hard to find where they were without opening the other doors so we waited until the 24th. We ended up with three empty doors (chocolate fell to the bottom). I have three kids and they each took a turn opening the door and then repeated the order. Of course when an empty door was opened there was a lot of disappointment. This Advent calendar is much higher priced than most so I would hope for it to be flawless. If it weren't for the delicious chocolate, I would not order again.
