This was easy to use and set up and we were able to see the mold growing in the petri dish! We even paid for the swab analysis which came back pretty quickly with what type of mold we had in our apartment. If you're concerned about mold, this is a great, affordable, and easy product to use. I didn't have any issues setting it up, and the optional mail-in analysis was a great option to figure out what exactly your seeing in the petri dish.

The product is easy to use. It's like any other such kit on the market: pour the fluid in the dish, let it gel, then just leave it out uncovered for a bit, then cover it up and wait to see what grows (something will almost always grow). The resulting growth has little value without getting an analysis, which is offered at an additional charge. That lab analysis is a selling point of this product. Here's the problem: as of writing this there is no way to submit it. You are supposed to register your kit online in order to mail it in to the lab, but there is a message saying they are running behind by several days. However, despite that message merely stating that they are delayed, in reality there is no way to register AT ALL right now. Yesterday their website threw an error when you went to the registration page. Now it just redirects to a page that has no registration form. So you cannot submit your test for analysis, thereby making these kits little more than a home science project. These should be taken off the market until Mold Armor is able to accept them for analysis again. Buy a different brand.

Purchased 4 kits. 8 bucks a kit. Followed easy instructions and placed the kits around the house. all 4 found mold. 1 kit particularly bad with a verity of growths. Up to this point all was fine. Then i tried to send it in for the labortory review. Very unclear instructions. The web site did not appear to work very well returning me to the beginning and forcing me several times to enter redundant information. zit did take my $40 right away however, I finally decided it might be a bogus site. So I tried to contact the company. Very hard to find contact info and no one replied to my repeated requests. I used the contact \ support information directly from the package so no chance of internet mis-direction. They just don't reply. I guess they just figure it's an easy $40. (lab fees they take up front with no way to cancel) They have a whole cadre of products which I would have probably purchased some, but not now. Very disappointed i guess this is how they conduct business If they ever contact me i will update the report Update 082321 Wow i got the lab report. took about a week. The reports list the verity of molds found and gives a brief description of each. It does not give you any idea of the level of exposure and since mold is everywhere it might not be that helpful. However it is what it is and it is what they said it would be. It also arrived in a reasonable (quicker than adv) time. They never did answer requests for support nor even so much as acknowledge my inquires so they get a 3 star. Little more detail on the report and some minimum of support and I'd have moved it to a 5 star.

Wanted to make sure that my dad's apartment wasn't making him sick so I wanted to test for mold. I placed a few of the tests around the areas where he spent most of his time (his pillow, his armchair, etc.) while he was out of the place for a few days. I collected the specimen and incubated them for the recommended time and was pleased that there was pretty much no growth. The only growth was from a swab of what was clearly mold from a place on one of his appliances. Given enough time, if there was even just a few spores, these tests will grow A LOT of mold, so they might be useful for that if that's something you're into.

Went on a vacation for a week and had no allergy symptoms at all. Didn't sneeze once. Wasn't home for an hour and started having bad symptoms. Bad enough that I went to see a doctor. These kits told me more than my doctor did. I was able to see the mold growing in the petri dish and it led me to the source of the mold. I'm in the process of eliminating it. This mold was identified and found after performing the "Air Quality" test. I also performed the "HVAC" test by placing the petri dish on a vent as directed. After 96 hours there is still no mold growing from this test. By viewing different pictures of mold, I was able to identify mine as "Aspergillus". This product worked well for me.

Definitely glad I bought this product. Has been helpful in confirming my suspicions.

Works okay in a basic way, though somewhat pricey for what you get, plus wants to upsell buyer a laboratory test for mold types.
