It adds joy to my heart when my son gets up early JUST to open the daily tab with SO much excitement each morning! Our new family tradition has started! Will buy each year as I see my kids curosity and wonder lighting up their brains each morning as they pop one open! He reads the rock descriptions that are so brilliantly displayed with a great pic of each possible rock, makes the jewelry kits that came with it with his favorite rocks, AND BEST of all it has peaked his interest so much that he goes and reads more about the rocks/minerals and takes them to share with his class! Not easy to recognize all the stones when comparing to the chart

It is very exciting to open it, but the rocks quite don’t match to the pictures on cover

I read the reviews before I made the purchase. Although there are mixed reviews, I took a leap of faith as my son is obsessed with minerals and stones, and there’re really not many other choices out there apart from some cheap knock off brands from China, so I made my purchase purely based on my trust in the brand itself. It didn’t disappoint and quite frankly it’s the best advent calendar I’ve bought over the years! The stones are in good sizes, beautifully polished and lovely to touch. ( child friendly!) There’s a detailed description for each stone along with some very easy to understand facts. I don’t think my son would ever want a chocolate calender ever again as this is far more interesting. I have to say this one even beats his annual Star Wars Lego calendar as I have found him rushing to it first thing every morning. I’d highly recommend this to any parents whose children have a passion in minerals.

Our kids loved this as their advent calendar instead of the usual chocolate ones or the Lego ones they’re had some years as a treat. Really well presented and lovely gems to be found inside. The only thing we found was the challenge of identifying some gems on the index inside the cover - lots look the same as another! But the kids figured it out by trial & error. We cut off the index to keep as a reference. Highly recommend this National Geographic product for gem & stone lovers!

This was superb! Lovely item with lots of beautiful gems. My 5 year old loved the advent calendar. Well worth it. Loved the little storage pouch and jewellery kit to show off the gems
