I originally purchased the Remarkable Pro, but after using it for about a week, I experienced pixel issues and had to return it. Unfortunately, the customer service support was disappointing during the whole returning process. That’s when I discovered the Kindle Scribe, and I decided to give it a try. Despite being smaller than the Remarkable Pro, I immediately felt it was the perfect size for me. 1) The writing experience on the Kindle Scribe is incredibly smooth and soft, unlike the Remarkable Pro, where writing produces a tapping noise and feels harder. 2)The Kindle Scribe offers a much softer, quieter experience that feels natural and enjoyable. The reading experience is also absolutely amazing. As someone who reads a lot of ebooks related to my field, the Kindle Scribe has been a game-changer. The display quality is excellent, and the lighting options are far superior to the Remarkable Pro, with a great variety of adjustments to suit different environments. 3)Another major factor is cost—I got the Kindle Scribe for nearly $300 less than the Remarkable Pro, and I pre-ordered it two months ago. The value it offers for the price is outstanding. 4)On top of that, Amazon’s customer service is exceptional, far better than what I experienced with Remarkable. 5)When I first got the Remarkable Pro, my reaction was, “That’s it?” It didn’t wow me, and after just two days of use, I found myself wanting to return it. I kept using it out of necessity, but when the pixel problems occurred, I finally returned it without hesitation. On the other hand, my first impression of the Kindle Scribe was pure excitement—it felt amazing right from the start. Writing on it feels soft and effortless, and reading is an absolute pleasure. It’s a truly versatile and well-designed device. I am so grateful to Amazon for creating this amazing tool. It has completely elevated both my reading and writing experiences. If you’re considering a Remarkable Pro, I would strongly recommend trying the Kindle Scribe instead.

So I've always had the small kindle paper white device and always felt the screen was a tad too small. On the other side I was using an iPad Pro or taking notes but that device was to distracting with everything else going on in it. I only needed the kindle to serve to purposes as a reading device and notes device. I take a lot of notes especially for work so the notes piece is every important. I was surprised how much like actually writing on paper this felt. It felt great! the notes features work for me and serve me well. only con is not having color for highlighting. But in actually what it has works fine for me. The best part for me is the reading experience, I always wanted a Kindle DX many years ago and never got one. The bigger screen makes it a lot more enjoyable to read. Like a lot more enjoyable. Lastly the sleek design is easy on the eyes and easy to carry no issues there. For my needs I recommend the device.

Upon receiving the product, I was disappointed to find that it was damaged. A noticeable spot is visible, especially in Dark mode. I reached out to Amazon to request a replacement, but they stated that this was not possible due to limited applicability. In addition to the damage, I encountered other issues with the product. The manufacturer's claim of up to 2 weeks of battery life is inaccurate, as the battery drains rapidly. In fact, the device arrived with 50% battery life and depleted to 45% within just 15 minutes. Furthermore, the display is blurry and fails to produce clean and clear images, unlike my smartphone, which has superior graphics. However, I did find the note-taking feature to be excellent, with smooth writing and a lightweight design that makes for comfortable reading. Despite the drawbacks, I would have retained the item if it had not been damaged. I paid $479 for this. That's a substantial amount of money for a damaged item.

Yes, this Kindle comes with a hefty price tag... but let's discuss what brought me to Amazon looking to update my old Kindle. I love holding a book, but that is what got me here. I had purchased a "holdable old school" book that I did not expect to find as meaningful to me as it is. I wanted to take notes on passages that spoke to me, and passages that I wanted to follow up on. I couldn't just take notes in the margins of my old school book and easily find these notations later... Enter Kindle Scribe! Add to that my interest in potentially illustrating a children's story that I've written and consideration of publication. So, I took the leap despite the price tag. What did I have to lose? I would have had a month to try and return the device... it's Amazon, after all. Well.... that won't be happening. I'm too happy with the device. All of the things that it promises - a responsive and notebook-like pen to paper experience with pen to screen - lightening responsiveness - long battery life - ease of organizing notes - no pairing of pen to device needed - Premium pen is truly premium! It's all truly there!! I love that the screen is larger than my old Kindle. I like its light feel in my hands. I can now enjoy the periodicals that are available with Kindle Unlimited. Accessing these on the old device was really just too much of a pain. The only things that could make this device better would be a smaller price tag and a color screen, which according to reviews of the device that make this feature available is something Kindle developers haven't mastered yet. All in all... I am very happy with this purchase! Next up, choosing a case ....
