If you're anything like me, you probably thought rice was just a bland, flavorless staple food. I mean, sure, it's filling and goes well with a lot of different dishes, but it's definitely not the star of the show. But then I discovered Nishiki Premium Sushi Rice, and oh boy, was I wrong. This rice completely changed my relationship with this staple food. I was looking for relatively inexpensive, shelf-stable foods that I could fill my pantry with. Never ate rice that much (I always thought it was dry and uninspired). Now, after having ordered Nishiki, I probably eat rice 3-5 times a week. I invested in a nice rice cooker just because of it! First of all, let's talk about the quality of this rice. It's premium for a reason - it's soft, fluffy, and sticky in all the right ways. I used to think that all rice was pretty much the same, but Nishiki has really shown me the difference that quality makes. Every grain is perfectly cooked and separates beautifully, so you never end up with a clumpy mess. But what really sets this rice apart is its flavor. I never thought I'd describe rice as flavorful, but Nishiki has managed to do just that. It has a subtle, slightly sweet taste that really complements the flavors of other dishes. And because it's sushi rice, it's perfect for making, well, sushi! I've been on a sushi-making kick lately, and I have to say, using Nishiki has taken my rolls to the next level. (Pro tip: add just a splash of rice vinegar) But even if you're not into sushi-making, this rice is still a great option. I've used it as a base for stir-fries, as a side dish, and even as a main dish. It's versatile, filling, and most importantly, delicious. I'll admit, I was a little hesitant to pay more for a bag of rice when there are other options, but trust me when I say it's worth it. Nishiki has made me love rice in a way I never thought possible, and I'm pretty sure it'll do the same for you. So go ahead, treat yourself to a bag of this premium goodness, and get ready to fall in love with rice all over again. In my opinion, Nishiki Premium Sushi Rice is the king of all rice, and it's made me a believer. If you're looking for a high-quality, flavorful, and versatile option, look no further. I promise you won't be disappointed. And who knows, it might even turn you into a rice-lover too!

I’ve been using Nishiki Medium Grain Rice for a while now, and it’s been a great find! While I couldn’t afford to buy rice imported from Japan due to its high price, this product is a perfect alternative. My son loves eating rice, especially sushi rolls, and this rice works beautifully for that. I always soak it for 15-30 minutes before cooking it in the rice cooker, following the steps carefully, and the result is consistently fluffy rice with great taste. The texture is perfect for making sushi rolls, holding up well without being too sticky or dry. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves sushi or just enjoys a good bowl of rice!

This Japanese rice comes out perfect in our rice cooker EVERY TIME. The rice is nice and fluffy and not all hard in the middle. The taste is really good and the price is reasonable. Will continue to buy this brand for all of our rice needs.

So here is the story. I am running out of rice have about 3 pounds of rice left last time I went to chinatown to pick uo 20 pounds of thai homali rice really good rice. Best rice they have in big stores. Recommended by my mom. I only took about 10 pounds of rice in my luggage. I double bagged the rice in plastic bags to prevent spillage of rice in my luggage bag. I go to chinatown about once every other month to visit parents and do some grocery shopping. I have all my groceries in a briefcase and a bookbag. Usually come back to kingston poughkeepsie with 70+ pounds of food. So I only took 10 pounds of rice. The rest of bag had chinese sauceage pork belly chicken curry veggies noodles tofu miso paste kimchi and free range chicken breast frozen. That was distributed between 3 bags. So this time around I didn't have time to go to chinatown last time I went was in may. So I was like amazon prime should have rice it has everything else. I was like wow there are some good Asian brand of rice really good prices too. I sent pictures of the rice brand to my mom so she can tell me which one to buy. She told me nishiki is really great brand for stream rice and is good for porridge as well. The yellow bag cali rice brand was mostly good for porridge. So I was looking at the reviews and such there were issues with bugs being found in the rice bags, spiders and worm infestation in rice bag. I was worried and scared about buying the rice due to that reason. So I was thinking there might had been a small hole or tear in those bags. Storage issues at warehouse. My mom told me if you store rice in a wet place bugs will come out of rice bag. So there might be issues. When I got my rice there was not wetness or moisture on rice. They seems to solve the issue at warehouse. I looked at bag before opening to see if there are any insects in them before opening. I poured the rice in a rice container I brought and then mixed the thai homali long grain rice with these medium grain ones. They are really good rice brand and is awesome for making stream rice or traditional Chinese breakfast porridge rice. I asked my mom she is the one that cooks in my place. I moved out and learning how to cook for myself. Any cooking issues or questions I always ask my mom. She told me this rice is really a premium grade awesomr tasting rice. Take that advice from an retired Asian housewife and my mother. This rice bag is worth the price and everything. Also noted if you do get a rice with bugs and nasty stuff in it please don't judge the brand as a whole. You are just freaking unlucky to get the 1/10000 bag that will have issues. Please try this brand of rice and you will love it. Also Asian rice cooking advice. If you have more than one cup of rice (rice cooker cup that is provided with every rice cooker) here is how to get perfect rice everytime. You wash the rice in the rice cooker rinse repeat 4 times. Washing mean you have rice in water then stick hand into rice and move the rice around flip the rice then pour out the water make sure to have hand on rice cooker bowel so rice don't run away. Then repeat this 3 more times. After that if you have 2 cup or more you stick your hand in Palm down on the rice. Press down lightly on rice. Also make sure that the rice is even/leveled for this so the water is even. Once the water reach your knuckles that is the right amount of rice for the 2+ cups. 1 serving or 1 cup of rice you just eye ball it typically for that it is 2 cups of water. Generally more water is better. Advice from my mom generally overcooked rice is edible . Undercooked rice is completely unedible and is waste of rice. Also how the heck do I post pictures of my rice for the review? Order first bag of rice on July 6th got it on july 8th i liked it so much i ordered 2nd bag of rice on July 8th. got the second bag on July 10th no bugs and issues with 2nd bag

So, here I am, buying sushi rice because I wanted sushi, and apparently, regular rice just wasn't going to cut it. Who knew? I mean, I thought you could just use any old rice and slap some fish on it, right? Nope. It turns out, there's a reason sushi rice exists. Actually, this stuff tasted really good. It was sticky, flavorful, and actually held together—shocking, I know. I might be a sushi connoisseur now... well, not really, but at least I didn’t completely fail at making sushi at home.

My favorite rice brand. Doesn't take too long to wash, few discolored or crushed grains present. Always comes out nice and fluffy in my rice cooker. Always tastes the way you expect white rice to taste. The price has been very reasonable though I worry that may change with inflation and tariffs incoming.

Due to all the crazy in the world it does not hurt to get bulk items and save. I also bought food grade bins with tops to place the food in to preserve the freshness. Love this rice, love the ability to buy bulk and it saves time and money. Great taste and fast delivery

Muy buen producto, sobre todo su sabor. Muy diferente al arroz mexicano. Satisfecha con esta compra, aunque me gustaría que hubieran más marcas y variedades de arroz japonés.
