Whenever I make a purchase I always check the reviews. This machine had some mixed reviews but most were good. I have bought several other nugget ice makers in the past and they did not last. From the time I bought them they made noise or just stopped working within a few months. This little ice maker is the best one so far. It's very compact on my counter and so easy to use. It doesn't keep the ice frozen but as the ice melts it will make more. Sometimes the ice gathers in the middle where it comes out and it triggers the ice full sensor. The ice is soft, easy to chew. Some of the reviews said that it had trouble making ice or it took a long time. I have found it to be the exact opposite. I think it makes ice quickly. If your on the fence about this machine I definitely recommend going for it.

Perfect for an apartment that has a fridge but no ice maker. Creates perfect ice quickly. I leave the machine running all day and night to have ice on hand at anytime of the day. The machine is quiet and well made with a tough stainless steel casing and looks great on the counter top. The ice production has saved me money because it provides me with ice in minutes so when I’m hosting I do not need to buy bags of ice if I place some in the freezer for back up. When the ice hits the beverage the cubes become easy to chew and are soft and pillow like but stronger that that famous ice people love.

After having three other pellet ice machines fail in 18 months I thought I’d try a different design. So far it’s quiet compared to the others although it’s 1/3 smaller. The ice tray is not insulated so we will see how that works out but it’s making ice quickly and there is more room on the counter than previously. I’ll report back if it breaks down like the others.

I love the pebble ice maker. I actually bought 2 of them. I keep one on my deck in the summertime and I have one in my kitchen. The pebble ice in my opinion is so much better than the large chunky ice cubes that come from ice cube trays. I like not having ice cube trays taking up space in my freezer. I recommend using the gallon of drinking water you get at the grocery store, to fill. I have well water and used that a couple of times and the minerals and rust particles clogged it up. A good cleaning with vinegar took care of the problem. I contacted customer service and sent them a video of the sound it was making they responded immediately and advised to clean in vinegar. Worked like a charm. It’s does make a sound when running, but it is not too loud. The machine will automatically shut off if the ice begins to back up. As the ice melts it will remake on its own. I also fill a few freezer bags with extra ice to keep in the freezer. I highly recommend this product.

I’m a week in and so far I’m happy with the ice maker. The ice is a little smaller than I anticipated. Ice is produced quickly. The hopper never gets full as once the ice fills to the output it shuts down. You have to manually. This is a smaller unit and works for my needs. It probably would not work for larger quantity needs.

This ice maker is an excellent product. It is easy to operate and maintain. It is an efficient maker of nugget ice. It is also easy to maintain. I like the size and style of the product and recommend it highly.

this will make about two or three glasses of ice before its basket is full and shuts off. so be ready to constantly maintain the machine. It does make great ice but not a good quantity if you want to entertain a group. we do bag the ice and put it in the freezer, but the ice then clumps and has to be broken apart. sounds really spoiled huh.

Let's be honest: you're here because you want an Opal but can't justify spending $400-600 on a freaking ice maker. *Ease of use: The most complicated part of this ice maker is making sure the drainage plug is firmly inserted, as it won't operate otherwise. Take it out of the box, wipe it down, and run a 15-minute cleaning cycle before the first use. It's one-button operation--press once to make ice or hold for a few seconds to start the cleaning cycle. *Quality of ice: If you're a "Sonic ice" purist, this isn't the machine for you. The nuggets are smaller and a little harder than the Opal's nuggets, but they have a satisfying mouth feel and crunch, especially after they've been in a drink. *Noise: All ice machines make noise--that's unavoidable. When this one is humming along, it's comparable to a microwave. I put mine in the garage, and it's not like the walls are shaking from the vibrations. *Quantity of ice: The bin isn't enormous--this isn't the machine you want for an ice-loving family of four. A full bin is enough to fill at least a couple of big tumblers. NB: if you follow the instructions and move the ice around in the bin during the production cycle, you'll get more ice because the machine won't mistakenly think the bin is full. *Bottom line: Is this ice maker going to revolutionize the beverage industry? No, but it's easy to operate, it does what it says on the box, and it doesn't cost as much as a car payment.
