We have a Yorkie who loves squeaky toys. However, we've seen her shred a supposedly "stronger" (that's what the label claimed) stuffed elephant with three squeakers in one day: she broke the squeaker in the elephant's stomach, tore off one leg and part of an ear. Worse, there was a squeaker in the elephant's leg that I caught her chewing on. Stuffing was all over the place. These toys are perfect. They have no stuffing inside. The squeaker is much, much sturdier and she's had this toy now for a week. It is fully intact, squeaker working. She loves to have us toss this toy, she will retrieve it, and bring it back, hoping we will play "tug o' war" with her. The toy is too small for that, so we'll be purchasing a larger one in this brand that is large enough to play a bit of "tug o war." We found these toys to be way less expensive here--in fact, the pet shop charged double for what you pay here on Amazon. This toy is sewn very well, so it has not split, and our dog is a heavy chewer--she would make a good tester for dog toy manufacturers. This size is good for Yorkies and smaller dogs, but this company makes toys in all different sizes for different-sized pups.

I had to purchase another one of these after he chewed up enough of the other one he had. The squeaker isn't super durable, but he doesn't instantly go to tearing this one up like his other toys with stuffing. I like that there isn't stuffing in this because then when he does chew on it, I don't find fluff all over the house. I will buy another one if needed because he carries this around like it is his most prized possession. The material isn't super thick but it is a little bit tougher than some toys. Definitely NOT for a strong chewer, but still fun and worth the price!

This is definitely a product for a small dog. I have two 15 lb dogs, one is a gentle chewer, the other destroys everything with a squeaker, just depends on how long. I agree with other reviewers, it's tougher than your average squeaker but not indestructible. That being said, it offers a lot of play value, in 5 days, she has damaged the fabric a little, seams are good, squeaker still works. It is a lower sounding squeaker, so she enjoys it but doesn't get obsessed as she does with other sneakers. Definitely a rebuy for my dog. With small dogs there is always that balance between durability and the ability to actually chew the toy...we have fire hose squeakers that are literally too tough, she can't chew them. One star off because I feel the ad makes the toy sound indestructible. Update: one month later, it's still being played with and the squeaker works. Update 5 months later, still squeaking and being played with.

I got this toy because my dog (22 pound cockapoo) is a destroyer of worlds and dog toys. She can chew and destroy anything and this was supposed to be something that could stand up to her. It did stand up to her, it's still in one piece but she hates it. She played with it when she first got it for maybe 5 minutes but has never pulled it out to play with it again so I don't know. Good rating for being a sturdy toy, bad rating for holding her interest

I bought this adorable Chew Guard Dog Toy for my tiny Tiger (a Chihuahua and rat terrier mix), and it’s been an absolute hit! From the moment I gave it to him, he couldn’t stop playing with it. Super cute little toy for puppers. My dog niece loves hers! It’s standing up to her chewing and the squeaker is holding up really well. It’s a really good quality and the material is holding up to her chew and play. The binding is a thick material so it’s holding the toy together really well and the stuffing isn’t able to come out. It’s a good size for a small to medium pupper

It's cute, and my adopted 8lb rat terrier loved it until the squeaker broke on the second day. Must not take a lot to break it, because after expensive dental surgery, my dog has four teeth left. He's not interested in it anymore. Maybe I can hang it on my Christmas tree.

The squeaky did not last long

Ottimo pupazzetto per la mia meticcia taglia media: lo adora soprattutto perché è facile da prendere in bocca e portare in giro, poco ingombrante durante le sue corse. Dopo diversi pupazzi dove il suono, all'interno, era duro da premere con le mani e difficile da trovare (figuriamoci a morsi...), sono contenta di questo prodotto. È anche facile da lavare a mano e il pelo non si è ancora rovinato con l'usura.
