I purchased this rod as a gift to myself and loved it so much i bought another one for my girlfriend. It's user friendly and I've only bird nested it twice (once when i was practicing and another when i was still getting used to it). It's a very nice sturdy built rod and reel combo. I feel i got a lot more for what i paid for it. I love that you can change the sound on and off (i personally love the clicking sound but if I'm around a lot of people i turn it off) with a quick slide of a button. If you haven't already, get yourself this pole!

I put 40lb braided line on and went fishing in the Sea of Cortez. I caught many nice fish and had one huge hook-up. I thought I was going to break the line or rod but both held up. We think it was a Sea Turtle as I never saw it. It broke loose after 15 minutes of fighting it. Great rig.

We are just getting back into salt water fishing and wanted something good, but not too expensive. This answered that requirement. The reel is well built and worth the cost, but when teamed up with the rod you get a really good deal!

Was pulling in a red snapper. Not over 8 pound. Broke the last 2 foot off. Simple vertical fishing . No abuse at all. So disappointed, really loved the way it handled

To heavy action for me I'm catfishing but salt water looks like they would be good.

Idk anything about this. But, my husband put this in our shared list, and I purchased it. Arrived on time and he's giddy af. He bought a vat of oil at Sams club & we use a dusting(or in his case a packing)of corn starch. And, every kind of large enough freshwater creature he comes across ends up dinner on weekends. He's had it several weeks now, everything seems fine.
