I’ve never had my cat sit and wait for his food! He knows exactly when it’s time to feed. PetLibro app allows you to set a feeding schedule. It’s a great item for a good price. It’s easy to operate and holds alot of food. We have had this for a few weeks and it has yet to need refilled. It is super sturdy. We keep it up high and our cats can’t even budge it! We ended up getting the matching cat water fountain!

This was our second try at an automatic feeder for our dogs. We got 2, one for each dog. The previous brand we got started clogging in the first week so we were concerned. I read a lot of reviews on multiple platforms before deciding on this one. We have only had one of these clog once and I think that may have been my fault. We have 2 50+ lb dogs and we were able to put enough food in the large feeders to last 8 days while we were on a trip. It should have lasted 10 days as it is said to hold 20 cups and the dogs were each getting just under a cup of food twice a day but it ran out of food after 16 meals. We had changed to small dog kibble because the previous feeders couldn't handle the regular kibble we used which is not nearly as big as the max size claimed to be able to handle. We are in the process of switching back to the regular kibble now since these are working so well. We will see if that continues. We normally feed our dogs the Kirkland Signature Nature's Own Salmon and Sweet Potato which I think is 12mm sized but switched to the small dog chicken and rice. I love the fact that it tells me when the food backs up in the opening and when the grainary low on food. Those are really helpful notifications. It is annoying that the desiccant only lasts 14 days. Not sure why that is. Our previous one had a camera which it turned out wasn't as helpful as we thought since you can't see their food bowls to determine if they have eaten or not just the tops of their heads while they are eating. So we got a lightbulb camera and hung it above their crates. We can see when they are eating or not with it. Yes, our dogs are crated for meals. They are actually pretty funny as they won't go into their crates to eat if we are home until we go with them. So this hasn't eliminated the need to get up at 6am to feed the dogs. It just means it is faster to deal with and takes less early morning brain power. It has become my morning alarm as their bowls and crates are just in the next room from my bedroom and I can clearly hear them when the food drops into the bowls. We removed the metal bowls and just use the plastic bowl because the metal bowl was too noisy for one dog and too small for the other. One thing different about this feeder is it gives you the amount in parts of a cup instead of weight. It does let you feed all at once or you can break it up into multiple smaller amounts. So far this has been great. Once we get the food switched over to the regular kibble if we have any problems I will come back and report on it.

App is easy to use and the feeder has been working without any intervention for 2 months. I even packed it up and took it to my sisters over the holidays and once I reconnected the Wi-Fi on my phone to the new network and registered, it worked without issue. I only have to refill the food and I wipe out the bowl every now and then. I think this thing is a lifesaver if you have a cat and you stay overnight somewhere not at . Also, cat doesn’t wake me up for food - it knows it’s coming and blames the machine. My cat free feeds and I dispense about 2/3 cup at once, and the dispenser doesn’t back up or block, but any more than that I imagine you’d have to split up the feeding times. If I had any gripes, I don’t trust the low food sensor. It really only goes off when it’s pretty much empty. Like there’s definitely still food in the hopper but that was about it so no early warning. So it’s definitely not zero maintenance but definitely beats manual feeding. I usually buy around a 3 pound bag and it pretty much fits. 5 pound bag and you should probably keep half of it planned for storage. I think this is a decent price for all the features it’s offered and I’ve had no maintenance issues.

I have the app based and manual versions of this product. I have the 3l manual for the cats and 5l app based for the dog. It works better for cats than dogs. I noticed when my dog grew and started getting feedings over 1 cup it started having issues. The rotor gets stuck on dog food more frequently. Cons of the app based feeder: - when it randomly disconnects from the internet, you have to redo the feeding schedule. It has randomly disconnected about 4 times in the last 6 months. - When you change the WiFi password you have to redo the whole setup process - when traveling, it has to be setup at the sitters location Pros of the app based feeder: - low food level notifications - easier to schedule feedings - they push for premium subscription

I’ve been using the PETLIBRO 5G WiFi Automatic Feeder for a bit now, and it’s been a game-changer. The app makes it super easy to schedule meals, and I like being able to adjust portions on the fly if needed. The low food sensor is a nice touch—it saves me from guessing when it’s time to refill. The lid seals well, so the food stays fresh, and I haven’t had any issues with jams. Setup was simple, and the WiFi connection has been solid. Overall, it just works, and I don’t have to think about feeding time anymore, which is exactly what I wanted.

WiFi stopped working in Jan 2025 after purchasing in August 2024. Feeder works great until it stopped working. i contacted petlibro support and found out feeder comes with 24 month warranty. They sent me new lower unit and I returned the defective one. If all the sudden the unit wont connect to WiFi after several months, lower unit may be bad. I would purchase again based on the EXCELLENT support.

TLDR; get the 5G WiFi Pet Feeder with APP Control model. I have a kitty with an eat disorder. He will gobble everything in one go if allowed. Now that he gets several small meal throughout the day, his appetite is smaller and he's less stressed about food. In fact, sometimes he leaves uneaten food in the bowl! I initially bought the base model. I strongly advise upgrading to the 5G WiFi Pet Feeder with APP Control. Setting the schedule is much easier with the app, plus you get more than the 6 time slots the base model only gives. I also like that I can set a different schedule for the weekend, allowing me to sleep in without a hungry kitty harassing me to get up. It also has a higher capacity, so it doesn't need to be refilled as often. One con is the app doesn't work across multiple devices. I prefer to use my ipad, but it would be nice if I could check in using my phone when away, Apart from that, cat approved!

After 6 month of use (and it wasn’t set to go off everyday either), the motor is dead. I keep getting an error message on the app saying the motor is stuck and to clean out the feeder but that’s not the issue. I’ve tried cleaning the machine out and it’s not a food blockage. The motor just won’t turn anymore. I've tried gently turning the motor manually and it won’t budge. There’s no way to open the machine to look under the motor to see if there’s an issue too. Very disappointing. The feeder isn’t cheap either

I have had this for 5 months now and it’s been great except it beeps and unlocks its buttons without anyone pressing it. It has had no wifi connectivity issues and is very easy to schedule and use the app! the beeping happens here and there and i’m not really sure why, other than that it has been great. *UPDATE* the beeping is getting progressively worse, right before feeding times it beeps non stop and unlocks the button without anything near it

I was really excited for this purchase but the device doesn’t connect the internet no matter what we try. We even reached out to my internet provider who said the feeder was showing up on our network but the feeder itself was saying it is not connecting. Their customer support replied immediately the first outreach, then when we replied back we received no answer even when we tried emailing again. The lack of support and wifi connection earned it 1 star :( We will most likely return it.
