I wanted to wait a little while before writing this review to see if it was really going to help or not. My French Bulldog Maelee had been suffering from food allergies for the past couple years. We had went to the vet numerous times and she had to be given antibiotics and ear drops that she had to take on a weekly basis for maintenance to keep ear infections from returning. I did some research on my own, to figure out that recurring ear infections are often a sign of food allergies or intolerance. I switched her food a couple times, trying to steer away from Chicken and just change the protein and I didn't see a change until I switched to this food. Since this wasn't a typical limited ingredient diet, rather a specialty diet I thought it was worth a shot it being a little bit cheaper than some of the other options but quiet a bit more expensive than the Purina Beneful or Purina One SmartBlend. I had initially started out with Beneful then changed to Purina one Smartblend with chicken then switching to lamb and it was with those dog foods she was having the allergic reactions to. She would shake her head, scratch her ears, bite her feet, and rub against the furniture all the time like she was so miserable. She would scratch scabs in her ears and it absolutely broke my heart, I can’t take that!! I knew I had to do something and not let her suffer, she is my baby. The vet didn't mention allergies after the few times we kept taking her back for ear infections, but I'm a responsible pet owner and did the research myself to figure out the cause. (No offense to our vet he’s a wonderful doctor) If your dog is suffering from allergies this food is a really good choice and worth a try. While it may be a little pricey it is well worth the reward in your dog will be a lot happier and healthier. Since switching to this food, she is no longer itching, biting her feet and we have weaned off of the maintenance ear drops from the vet even. I couldn't be happier~! The quality of life when a dog has allergies has to be absolutely miserable. I was determined to keep switching, paying any amount of money to get my dog back to normal. We also tried the Zippy Paws Aller-Immune chews right around the same time we switched to this dog food, and I'm still giving her those as well. Some of the other reviewers said there were bugs in this dog food. There were no bugs in our bag of dog food and Salmon is the first ingredient. Reading the list of ingredients is a lot better compared to some of the other dog food brands in this category. I couldn't recommend this dog food enough, and I'll continue to dish the money out each month to give it to my dog if that means she doesn't have to suffer from itchy skin and ear infections. If your on the fence about buying this because of all the negative reviews regarding bugs, I inspected my bag thoroughly and there were NO BUGS! Also Purina has very good quality control and I am loyal to this brand. **UPDATE** 09/27/2022 My Frenchie has had to go back to the maintenance ear drops from the vet. It’s luckily just a call in prescription no longer requiring an exam every time but she does have to take them again. I don’t think it’s anything to do with her diet anymore rather environmental allergies on top of the protein sensitivity. This food is still working great for her. When the ear infection returned we decided to switch to Hills prescription diet d/d salmon formula, buying it from our local vet and was a lot more expensive than this food. We kept her on that for months but no change in her ears so we switched back to this. I’m still happy with this food and know it’s made her allergies a lot better. There’s just unfortunately not much you can do for environmental allergies besides allergy medicine to help from the vet. We limit her treats and try to stick with single ingredient freeze dried salmon. She’s my life and I would do anything for her. Hope this helps other dogs with food sensitivities feel better too!! We have two rescue dogs, both of whom came to us with sensitive stomachs and digestive issues. Finding the right food for them was a challenge until we discovered Purina ONE Sensitive Stomach Dog Food. This product has been a game-changer for our household! Our dogs love the taste, and their digestive issues have significantly improved since switching to this formula. We’ve noticed fewer stomach upsets, healthier stools, and their coats even seem shinier and softer. It's clear they're thriving on this food. The convenience of subscribing for monthly deliveries on Amazon is a huge plus for us. We never have to worry about running out, and it’s one less errand to think about. The packaging always arrives in excellent condition, and the subscription price is competitive. We couldn’t be happier with this choice for our pups. If you have dogs with sensitive stomachs, I highly recommend giving this food a try. It’s made a big difference for us and our furry family members!

We had a hard time finding a dog food that would not upset our sensitive English Bulldog. This one actually works. Its hard to find in stores, so we subscribe to it through here. It's a little more expensive compared to other foods, but that's expected with a sensitive dog food. He seems to enjoy the taste and quality and remains healthy.

I purchased this for my 2yo blue pitbull that has allergies to food and environmental allergies. She had red and irritated patches of skin. Her skin was flaky like dandruff and overall she smelled like a frito. During the first month I noticed her skin didn't appear as red and she seemed to stop itching as much, but her skin was still flaky and rough looking. The second bag came in and I literally had only been serving her that bag for about 4 days when she started to violently throw up. She refused to eat for 2 days (would only drink water) and continued to throw up. She maintened normal bathroom habits so it made me wonder if it was the food since she wouldn't touch the food anymore, but kept puking. I bought her a different kind of food and tried it with her and after about 2-3 days of not eating she got sick omve from eating so much (she dived into the new food when she wouldn't touch her old food). She did throw up a small amount the first time and I believe it was from eating so much after not eating for several times, but she's stopped getting sick. I went and looked through these reviews and was astonished at how I missed other reviews that were similar to mine (about their digs getting sick). I feel like I poisoned my dog by giving her this food and will never buy it again. Edit: after speaking with other people whom have gave this to their dog I decided to buy in store to ensure that the food was fresh. My pup has been on it now for 3 months and her hot spots have all but disappeared and her hair shedding has decreased significantly. Her skin is still flaky as it's healing, but this has been the only change. I have bought one bag off this supplier out of those three months and no ill effects. I'm assuming I got a bad bag of food. I would again recommend this to any dog owner who has a dog with food allergies. It's greatly helps with their skin issues.

Overall, food wise for my dogs, this food has been good. Made a change towards my Senior dogs skin/coat. He’s been doing well. It’s just every time I order a bag, they change a few things on the bags, banners for example, it’ll say Adult 7+ and it’ll say “Specialized” or like on the photo displayed on Amazon, it’ll say Adult 7+ “Senior”. Another thing to note, the bags are so similar, I bought an “Adult” not 7+ or Senior for my dogs. Not realizing they’re formulated for different age? It’s very misleading and instead of getting the usual Adult 7+ “Senior” I now received just the Adult. Noticed the Ingredients are a bit different, and Protein is different as well. Hopefully it won’t affect my dogs. But something to be aware of.

My two year old golden loves this food, she’s been on the purina pro plan since a pup and switched about 6 months ago from chicken to salmon and noticed she’s way less itchy, and her coat is now super soft and glossy. It must taste good as she’s always very excited for meal time and has not gotten bored of it. I’ve also had zero issues with her weight being on this food, I feed her 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 cups twice a day.
