Let me start by saying I have owned a multitude of dash cams. I was a big dash cam fan long before they were made by my own contraptions and cameras. I use them for videos, memories of drives and more recently just pure safety. I have had a few favorites that served me well and this last favorite was an apeman dual. It quit saving times and dates and then randomly quit saving videos. So I looked in the new market and read from very expensive ones to cheap ones. I began to read about Roves super capacitor and how that works. I’m a geek that way where most would move on to the other features. In short this is why all previous dash cams would eventually give out. It used an internal battery that eventually dies. The capacitor in this replaces that so there is no battery failure and your information is always current. Before I was even able to use this I had all these and more questions and this is where the best part of this product comes in. I’ve never been able to use customer service with any of my previous dash cams and honestly DIDNT need too because they were very basic. Rove is very fast at returning emails with answere that make sense to your questions. I think I read it is based here in. The states as well? Either way, they really stand behind the product and will walk you thru anything. The dash cam…. WOW. Honestly I don’t care for apps and linking this too that etc. but with this you don’t have too necessarily but I really like this addition. The features are endless with this thing. If anything ever happens to you you are able to show everything from your speed to every detail around you in a super fantastic quality video. There is no more waiting to go home and download or any of that. Download any or all your videos instantly to your phone as needed. The Wi-Fi does not stay on if you choose. My concern was someone hacking my dash cam somewhere. Rove says the Wi-Fi is not a strong signal but for nearby connection so this cleared my mind about that. I have just began to use mine and the features will take me some time to get used to using and I will update as I learn. I am very pleased so far and wanted to voice my impressions to start because if your looking for a great dash cam and an actual company that stands by the product you cannot go wrong here and with this dual kit you miss nothing. This is strictly my opinion, not given anything for it nor asked to make it by anyone. I really like this model and company that much. The weight and durability is here. It feels solid. Awesome video quality and sound is perfect, not raspy. I love it. More updates to come and video examples. I hope this helps anyone on the fence and doesn’t know which one to buy. This review probably a little longer than I usually write. To start, I've had another dashcam hardwired in my car for 9 years (from BlackVue) and over the last few years their app has gone from being bad to outright nagging me to pay for premium cloud storage, so when it the front camera finally pooped (the video went all rainbow), so I decided I needed to replace it. A couple years ago in 2019 I was renting cars every other week on work trips, so I picked up a Rove R2 to use on rental cars and it was a good experience with it. This week I was looking at Amazon and I saw the Rove R2 Dual now had a two-camera version that was cheaper than the single camera I bought before! This camera I have to say from first impression is the front camera is better than the original R2 I have. The screen seems better, and the video is better too. I read elsewhere the sensor isn't actually 4K, so I'm using it as 2.5K front instead. For the memory card I'm using a 256GB SanDisk Max Endurance, which is built for dashcam use, that I bought and had been using for the last 3 years. I picked up the polarizer filter which is screw on option (instead of friction fitted like on many other dashcams), and it improved the daytime video removing all problems with glare from the dashboard. The rear camera quality unfortunately isn't as good as I would like but considering the value proposition of this camera compared the nearly 5X I paid for the BlackVue originally I can't complain. Yes, quality rear video is nice to have, but every instance I've needed the rear video I had to paired it with the front video to show it wasn't my fault. Usual issue is someone will accuse you or running the stop sign, failing to yield, backing up into them, etc. which you need the front video anyways. The rear video would then show they didn't stop, yield, signal, etc.; that's really the benefit of the rear camera for me. Installation, I installed this with the hardwire kit which I bought separately and will review separately, but the combo is excellent. I do like it came with a basic car trim pry too, which came in handy running the power and the rear camera wires. The included kit options of both suction cup and a permanent mount (I used the latter) is nice touch for me. In fact this lets me use the dash cam if I was driving a friend's car or a rental car (if I didn't already have the older R2 for this). Some negatives is mostly with the app and UI. I had a lot of good experiences with the app before, and it's still very good. I don't like that I'm now forced to create and sign into an account to use it. Seem unnecessary. Also I would like an option to disable the WiFi password from showing on the screen for the camera. My phone will remember the password, there's no reason it needs to show it for potentially to other folks in the vehicle. Overall I'm very happy with the value of this dash cam and I hope it will serve me well for years to come.

Recently, for the first time, I had an actual need to show my dashcam video from my old dashcam to a police officer. The download was so slow it would have taken 30 minutes and no way the officer was going to wait around for that. When just trying to watch the video without downloading it, it kept freezing and buffering again and again. It was ridiculous. I purchased this Rove camera based on its advertised download speed and it does not disappoint. You can watch a video immediately with no buffering. Recording times can be set for 1, 2, or 3 minutes. I have mine set to 3 minutes. Downloading one of those took right at 2 minutes. Rove claims "up to 20MB/s Fastest Download Speed with App." As you can see in the picture, I got 4.73MB/s for this experiment; still plenty fast for me. Video quality is great and installation was easy. I was going to take one star off for the windshield mount. It was a simple enough installation, but it would not swivel right and left at all as it is supposed to. I had to take it apart (really tiny little screws) and trim some plastic burrs off it with an Exacto knife. I have not been able to get the swivel forward and back adjustment tight enough so it holds in place. I think I got a bad one. I contacted Rove by text, their preferred method, and got an immediate reply from a REAL person. AND no "Press this for that and that for this" or Chat Bot that asks a million questions for 10 minutes then connects you to a person anyway. They are sending a new one out today. Great customer service on that account. For that reason I am giving the full 5 Stars.

Im impressed by the quality and simplicity of this setup. I perched the hardwired kit from Rove and I think it is a better way to go. I installed the camera kit in a Sorento 2025. the provide wire for the rear camera in the ward-wire kit is adequate length by fishing the wire underneath the scuff plate without removing trim. Everything you need comes in the kit. Even the fuse holder that works flawlessly and rapidly. I was amazed by the small multimeter/test light being provided in the hard-wired kit the work like a charm. Great quality video with the front and the rear camera. The Rove app is user friendly and you do not need university degree to be able to navigate and setting up all the parameters via your phone. Whit the built in wifi it is easy to access your footage in case of emergency or provide as proof of imbecility of other drivers 😇. The built in gps provides precise positioning wen properly enter the gps tine zone.
