Easy to install, nice setup with update of course, works great. Camera is high quality very nice picture quality. The birds eye view is a little confusing, since I have a big tree in my viewing area, but it does work using what I assume is google earth views, since the tree has leaves, and it does not right now. Very novel idea. The lights function but could be brighter. Very nice night vision. It replaced the earlier version, and I am very satisfied.

I recently installed the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro Solar, and I’m thoroughly impressed! This camera has exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and performance. The 3D motion detection is a game changer—it's super accurate and reduces the number of false alerts I used to get with my previous camera. I can easily customize the motion zones to focus on specific areas, which gives me peace of mind. The two-way talk feature is incredibly useful; I can communicate with anyone on my property directly through the app, whether it's to greet a visitor or warn off an unwanted guest. The audio quality is clear, and the setup was straightforward—getting it connected to my Wi-Fi and integrating it with the Ring app took no time at all. The solar panel is a fantastic addition; I never have to worry about battery life, and it keeps the camera powered all year round. The spotlight feature is bright and helpful, providing extra security at night. Overall, this camera is well-built, packed with features, and has significantly improved my home security. I highly recommend the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro Solar to anyone looking to enhance their security system!

I bought this unit and installed it the next day. It's a hard-wired version, but I see that it also comes with a battery. The camera can be powered by battery or by hard-wired 110 volt AC, and if the battery is selected, it can even be solar powered and battery recharged that way. The solar unit looks too clumsy so I decided to go with either battery or hard wire. Once I had it wired, I tried both power methods via the Ring App on my cell phone, and both methods power the video camera unit quite well, but I selected the hard-wire method anyway, and the battery will be a back-up unit if the power goes out. The view from this camera is quite good. It's 1080P and it shows my entire driveway and front yard in movie-like quality. It allows me to hear what's going on outside, and I can even talk through the unit, much like a Ring doorbell would. I have two Ring floodlight cameras installed, and this spotlight cam pro cooperates with the other two, that is to say that they are all interactive, and I can control all of them via my cell phone Ring App, from home, or while traveling. The Ring cameras all connect to my Wi-Fi and then to my cell phone, and the cell phone works with the cameras and Wi-Fi system from anywhere in the world. Overall, this is a terrific unit, and very easy to install - especially if the battery power method is selected.

So, the camera itself? Fantastic, you'd almost think it's daylight from the nighttime picture quality. Install, not bad at all. However... the battery life on this thing is atrocious. Two battery packs drained within a couple days, and don't bother with the solar kit. Mine literally has direct sunlight all day long (when it's available, of course) and it doesn't even come close to recovering the spent energy. That said, order it with the hardwire kit. I recommend this for any of their cameras, the doorbell cams will go a week or two but why mess with it? Those are even easier to wire, just a Ring transformer or a 24V (?) transformer and some low voltage wire, done. This one's kit requires that it be wired to household voltage (120V) but it's well worth it. Keeps the batteries charged too in case of power loss.

Click to play video Spotlight Cam Pro is, so far, a good camera with some nice features. Installing it was rather simple. When you setup the camera, you just scan the QR label with your phone and follow the steps. The spotlight feature is pretty useful for smaller areas, but it won't light up a large area. You'd probably need the Floodlight Cam Pro if you need to add light to a larger area, but those need to be hardwired to function. The audio recording is pretty good, it picks up voices and footsteps from 20ft away. The video quality is nice too, it's not 4k but the 1080p is still good. The birdseye view works, although I don't quite understand the full scope of what it could be used for. Also, the Pre Roll function is strange. It pre records motion, but the quality is like that of a Playstation 1. Super grainy and pixilated. And once the "Pre Roll" ends, the quality clears up. But at that time, the person or vehicle or whatever caused the recording to begin is too far away to be recorded in good quality. So, again, I don't quite understand what the "Pre Roll" function is useful for. These cameras also come with Enhanced Colored Nightvision and HDR. I can't say I'm super thrilled with the way these cameras handle the light. It's dusk at this very moment, and there's still some light in the sky, but the Pro cameras are already in Nightvision mode while a couple other Camera Plus cameras I own still show a colored Live View. I included pictures of the Pro Cam and my Video Doorbell Plus, at the same in the evening, and you'll see what I'm referring to. You can set schedules for camera motion and the cameras lights, and you can also create light groups if you want to turn on certain lights on certain cameras. So I have 2 Cam Pros on the front of my house in a group, so I can turn on those cams lights independently of the other cameras I have installed in the back of my house. Then I have the rear house cams in a group to turn them on at the same time if necessary. You can talk to people through the camera as well, just like with the Ring Doorbells. There is also an alarm you can activate if you ever need. There is also an Emergency Services function in which you can call police or the fire department through the Ring app, in case you witness anything on your property that requires an emergency response. One thing I noticed, which may or may not mean much, is the boxes in which the Spotlight Cam Pros came in. One of the boxes is fancier. All the lettering is silver, and raised, the blue background used for text is darker, and it has the signature of the inventor on the side of the box while the others don't. So I don't really know if that means anything. I don't know if the cameras have anything different going on internally in terms of the quality of hardware used or if it means one camera is older and/or newer than the others or what. Overall I'm very pleased with the purchase of all these cameras along with the Ring Doorbell Plus. They're all functioning the way they were meant to and I would recommend them to anyone trying to add some protection to their homes.

Not a bad little camera and the motion light is very handy. Installation was easy and getting the unit online was a breeze. Battery life is very dependent on how often the light comes on and how bright the light is set, but it's not bad. The extra battery slot is a great idea and I immediately got an additional battery for it. The camera is a little more grainy that expected but good enough for home security.

It's good for what it is, how ever I thought I'd be able to see a license plate from the other side of the street but you can't. So "good, but not amazing".

I’ve got several of these now, and when they are linked to a Ring Solar Panel, it’s “set and forget” - no need to ever change batteries. The customer service at Ring is also excellent and they definitely take an interest in the products they sell as they continually update the software with nice features and enhancements.

I purchased two of these because I'm already using Ring products for my home, and I chose the battery + solar option because there's no electrical wiring available. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that the battery life of the cameras was incredibly short, and even with the solar panel fully connected and power efficiency settings at their minimum, I had to charge the cameras every week. Despite following all the troubleshooting steps recommended by Ring, I saw no improvement in performance. At this point, I can barely rely on the cameras to function properly. If you're in the market for a solar or battery-powered camera, I suggest looking elsewhere.
