I was on another prenatal for about a month before I tried this one. I was constantly sick and exhausted, but I just blamed it on first trimester hormones. When I was about to run out, I decided to switch. Holy cow. I feel like a new person! I honestly went & got an emergency ultrasound this morning b/c all my symptoms disappeared within about 3 days of me switching. (Baby's heart rate is strong & they're growing perfectly!) I spent almost a month feeling constantly nauseated, my stomach was my enemy, and I felt completely useless due to exhaustion. For a couple of days now, I haven't had nausea, my stomach is all back to normal, and I have all the energy. My only complaint is that the lemon smell is really strong. I'm the type that likes to take pills with food, so I really can't with these b/c the smell is overpowering and makes whatever I'm eating taste weird. So, plain ice water it is. I just hold my breath. I've seen some people post about "fishy burps." I personally haven't had that, though very shortly after taking them there's a very faint aftertaste in the back of my throat, if that makes sense. But honestly, I'll take a strong lemon smell over the gross pills I was taking before. Plus, it's the smallest price to pay to feel this good.

I’ve been taking Ritual Essential for Women Prenatal for three months while trying to conceive, and so far, I’m very impressed. The capsules are easy to swallow and don’t cause any stomach discomfort, which I’ve struggled with in the past with other prenatals. The ingredients are high-quality, vegan, and the transparency about sourcing gives me confidence in what I’m taking. I particularly like that this prenatal contains key nutrients like folate, iron, and DHA, which are essential when preparing for pregnancy. The mild lemon flavor is a nice touch too – no unpleasant aftertaste like other supplements I’ve tried. Although I can't say for sure if this has helped me conceive, I feel reassured knowing I’m supporting my body with the right vitamins and minerals. I also appreciate that Ritual offers prenatal vitamins for different stages of pregnancy, so I can continue with the same trusted brand. Overall, I’m happy with my experience and will continue taking this prenatal vitamin as part of my routine. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a clean, effective supplement!

I was told that with this pregnancy that I have the MTHFR and protein S deficiency and that I had to take a special kind of prenatal, which stunk because I had just purchased a bunch of high quality prenatals off amazon that I can’t use. I was told by my OB to look for a prenatal with methyltetrahydrafolate. This ended up being a difficult task. I could hardly find anything but did eventually find the ritual brand. I was impressed with the clear capsules with the liquid contents where you could see the ingredients. The pill size was also tolerable as I was taking a prenatal previously that was like a horse pill. I also liked the idea of the pill flavoring as supplements can taste awful. I bought the lemon flavor and it didn’t leave any sort of an aftertaste. One thing I wasn’t crazy about was the price as $43 is pretty steep for once a month. I ended up getting the subscription and saving 15% and then I bought a bunch of bottles during cyber week for about $23 to hold me over for the duration of my pregnancy. They also make a postnatal, which from my understanding with the MTHFR gene I will need to take this form of folate for the rest of my life. I don’t recognize if I have any changes as to energy but I am in my last trimester so everything for me is low energy and I’m always tired. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase. This is great for pregnant women/new moms like me that can’t process folic acid normally and need this other form. ***UPDATE*** I just wanted to update that I am still on this prenatal. It’s been almost 6 months that I’ve been on it and I continue to like taking it. Two capsules a day at night and nothing ever comes back up with an after taste. There’s nothing negative to report. I still recommend this brand and have bottles of the post natal lined up to take after the baby is born.

I just completed the entire bottle of prenatal so I feel ready to review them! (I’m currently 39 weeks pregnant) I have a very sensitive stomach and when taking these I didn’t have any issues with stomach upset, digestive changes or nausea. I’m not a huge fan of how expensive they are but most prenatal vitamins are expensive so I bit the bullet due to the clean ingredients. I got the citrus flavor and they taste/smell like lemon which I liked. If you take them WHEN you’re eating or directly after you can avoid the fishy burps, BUT if you take them too long after you ate the burps are vile. It’s a fishy- musty taste that is disgusting. The only thing that has me in limbo about purchasing again is the color change. I did not have anything super drastic like I see in the other reviews but they do darken over time. It says not to store them in direct sunlight, which I did not but over the month they did darken a bit. I’m pretty curious as to why that happens. Besides that I am very happy with these vitamins.
