Like many people I wanted to move away from cable TV to a streaming only option since most cable TV providers have decided their business model is to price themselves out of the market. I had looked at various streaming boxes and decided that since back in the day I owned the original Roku box when Netflix got into the streaming game, I might as well go back to the brand that I had experience with in the past. So I looked around at the Roku website, and looked at all the features I wanted and landed on the Ultra for a few reasons: - The look of the box - Remote support for RF and IR remotes (Important if you have an IR universal remote) - Wired Ethernet connection (Yes WiFi works, but wired is better if you have the connection) - Included remote is rechargeable and has voice commands Why did I go for the refurbished/refreshed unit? It was about 30% less than a non-returned one, and it was worth it for me in case I didn't end up liking the Roku platform might as well go for a better priced one with pretty much the same warranty. (Oddly after buying this Roku sent me 40% off deal on a new box a few weeks after getting this one.. so now I have two of them). Set up is pretty easy create an account, zip code, wait for software updates. Some of the usual streaming services apps are already added to the main screen, and can be removed if you do not need them, adding additional streaming services apps is simple enough, and the inclusion of Roku live TV at no extra cost is a nice bonus for people transitioning away from traditional live TV (you cannot DVR things with this but it helpful if you want to watch the news or live sporting events). It works with my Harmony remote, and with the Roku skill, basic voice commands worth with Alexa. Con: I hate the big white inspection sticker they put on the front of the refurbished Roku boxes. Seriously they could have put it on top, on the side, on the bottom.. but no, right on the front and off to the side so it is an eyesore. Even in the middle on the front would have looked better. At some point I will get some WD-40 and a q-tip and remove it, but is an odd place to put the sticker. But seriously that really is my only issue and if that it all I have to "complain about" it is not a big deal.

I really like this over my Apple 4k tv. I can get lots of free channels with the Roku channel. I bought this for my bedroom as it has the earbuds attached to the remote so I can listen without disturbing my husband. I find the remote much easier to operate than my Apple 4k box. I love Apple products, but the few extra features and ease of remote is what sold me. Got a great deal on reconditioned one too.

I recently purchased the Roku Ultra 2022 4K/HDR Streaming Device with the Roku Voice Remote Pro, and overall, I’m really happy with the quality and features this device brings to my streaming setup. It’s fast, offers stunning 4K/HDR picture quality, and the Voice Remote Pro makes navigation super convenient. Pros: Excellent Picture Quality: The 4K and HDR support provide a noticeably crisp and vibrant viewing experience, and it enhances any content I stream. User-Friendly Interface: The Roku OS is easy to use and intuitive. Setting it up was straightforward, and the navigation is smooth and responsive. Roku Voice Remote Pro: I love the hands-free voice search and rechargeable battery, which is very convenient. It’s a great upgrade from standard remotes. My Only Dislike: No Asian Language Support: My biggest disappointment is the lack of Asian language options. Since I primarily stream content in an Asian language, I find myself having to switch back to my LG TV’s built-in platform, which does support it. It’s a bit inconvenient, especially when the Roku device performs so well otherwise. I really hope Roku considers adding more language options in future updates. Overall, the Roku Ultra 2022 is a fantastic streaming device with a lot to offer, but the limited language support is a drawback for non-English-speaking users. If you don’t need Asian languages, I’d highly recommend it for its performance and quality. For those who do, just be aware of this limitation.

This worked flawlessly with T-Mobile home Internet. Other Rokus will not work with the latest white iteration of their routers since it only transmits 5ghz to its mesh units.

We have several Roku devices and 1 Roku TV. This is the fastest unit in the house and the remote control is rechargeable with a micro USB plug. Highly recommend this unit

I just purchased this to replace an amazon fire tv. Coincidentally or not, my fire tv box was working one day and on trying to boot up the next morning it would not work. I just talked to my son and strangely enough, his did the same thing at the same time. Coincidence or planned update to put the fire tv out to pasture. I tried multiple tvs I tried unplugging multiple times and a lot of frustration on this thing. I have never had a roku die on me yet. This is about the 3rd fire product to stop working on me. I will stick to roku from here on out as I have found them to be extraordinarily reliable. Set up was a breeze and the feature of finder and a jack for headphones make this the best item ever.

I had a 4K Roku but it was over 7 years old. I bought a new TV and the picture quality on this new Roku is astounding! Because it comes in with the dole the Atmos & Vision, I can enjoy every program the clarity that I never seen before. I like having the response that's a little bit more quicker because of the new remote as well. The refurbished model in my opinion is just as good as a brand new model. The price on this is fantastic.
