TL;DR: Get the t7 instead if using for ps5/ps5 pro. Edit: I purchased a 4tb t7 because of the issues I state later, but I am also having the same issue with the 4tb t7. Not sure why that is, since I never had that issue with the 2tb. So, get whichever is cheaper. I upgraded from a 2tb Samsung t7 that I've used for years and highly recommended for the ps5. This gives 3.6tb of available storage, which holds all my ps4 games (roughly 150 games) with 900gb to spare. The read/write speeds work as if the games are installed in my ps5 pro (yes, pro), and the performance upgrades are noticeable (better visuals, better fps), so it's literally as if I'm running it from the pro. The issue is sleep mode. With the t7, I had it connected to my ps5 for years with no issue. Play games, sleep mode, play games, repeat, turn off. I've only had a connection error when my system was improperly shut off (black out or console was being weird, which was rare). With this, every time I woke the ps5 and ps5 pro (bought this before receiving the pro), it would give me an error as if I removed the device mid game. For the first week, I thought it was a fluke, but even if I don't play ps4 games, same deal. I went from plugging and forgetting to never forgetting to safely remove before putting the console to sleep. For the past week, I just moved games I'm using from the externa ssd to the internal ssd. This is a downgrade from the t7's "set it and forget it". Otherwise, it works great.

Best one I've used so far but, it often says there is an issue with the drive when I switch it to a different device and it needs a repair check.

While my T9 can reach 2000 MB/S, it can only reach that speed directly plugged into my motherboard's 20 GB USB-C port. Plugged into my UGREEN 10G USB hub (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BKRPFL23) it can only reach 1000 MB/S speeds (see the CrystalDiskMark benchmarks). I could not find a 20G USB hub on Amazon, or anywhere else for that matter. They don't seem to exist. So unless you have a laptop that has a fast enough USB-C, or Thunderbolt port, you'll have to settle for 1000 MB/S. And if you have a desktop computer, you'll need to plug it directly into your motherboard's 20 GB port. Since I'm only using the T9 for back-up, I can always unplug my hub from my USB-C extension cable, and plug-in my T9, so it won't really affect me, apart from the inconvenience of having to swap cables. Incidentally, the T9 is the same size as my Samsung T7 Shield. After just having done my first back-up with the T9 using Acronis True Image, the speed was outstanding. True Image uses a compression algorithm, so the displayed speed is faster than the true speed. With a standard hard-drive, I previously backed up before I went to bed because it took so long. With the T9, I can back up at any time as it takes less than 15 minutes compared to over an hour plus with a standard hard-drive. One caution though, the drive did get warm during the back-up.
