I have used this ice maker for a few weeks on the boat and at home. First off, it makes one size ice cube: Large. The ice measures 1.25” long x 1” dia. Having only one size is good. Some competitor units make two sizes. That is sort of gimmick marketing. Having two sizes is something else to go wrong and small cubes melt almost instantly. The machine makes the first batch of cubes in about 9 minutes. Ignore the first batch. They will be clear, smallish, and not hard. The machine’s internals haven’t cooled. In fact I sometimes leave the first batch in the holder where they melt and provide cold water for the second batch. The second batch will be very good cubes; firm and white. The cubes have a hollow center. This provides more surface area so the drink gets cold faster than with solid cubes. They will melt faster than solid cubes. They will keep a drink cold in a Yeti cup and have cubes remaining for an hour. The unit keeps making ice every 8 or 9 minutes until it runs out of water or the holder is full. The unit holds enough water to fill the holder ice several times. No need to add water every time the holder is emptied. I have had no issues with the cubes sticking together. Put them in a bag in the freezer. A light tap and they come apart. The machine has to sit upright for two hours before first use for the oil to settle in the compressor. Some other units have to sit as long as 12 hours. I leave the scoop on the counter when making ice and in the bin when not. Some competitors units have a holder on the front. The holder on those units sticks out and could get broken when transporting. I was concerned about oil getting out of the compressor when used on the boat due to rocking. No problems when anchored or docked. I did not make ice while underway. I like the handle, smaller dimensions and lighter weight compared to other units.

Great little ice maker for home or on the road. We purchased the ice maker originally for RVing. But found it convenient for extended stays in AIrbnbs. The ice maker, makes two sizes of ice which are like very similar in shape to a billiards powder cone but much smaller. We like that it has indicator lights to show when the ice bin is full and when it needs water added to the reservoir. Since the ice bin is directly over the water reservoir, as the ice melts the water goes right back into the reservoir. Obviously this is not an ice machine that you’d want to supply ice for a party but for two people it’s great. The downside is that it is a bit noisy, but it’s a noise that you kinda get used to and move on with. I just wouldn’t want to sleep with it in the same room. We kept it running 24/7 for a long weekend in our last Airbnb stay and it worked great. But if the noise is a bit too much you can always unplug it until needed. It takes about 7 minutes to make a glass full of the small ice, a little bit longer for the bigger ice. Default setting is for it to make the bigger ice, I haven’t found a way of changing that, so it is what it is, the only time you have to change it is after you initially plug it in. So if you only want small ice, set it and leave it. Besides the noise, the only other downsides are the weight and you need to keep it upright for travel as apparently it has a small refrigerator compressor in it.

Bought this to replace a Magic Chef ice maker that made the same amount of ice. That one lasted for a little over 2 years so looking forward to seeing how long this one will last. The overall size is a tad bit smaller than our old one. That is both good and bad. This one is a bit shallower where the ice collection basket sits. So far the only down side I’ve found is that when scooping ice from a full basket, it tends to push a cube or two back 8 to the drop chute. This is a small problem, not worth worrying too much about. It makes ice quickly, is relatively quiet and works pretty much like every other version of this variety. It only has 1 size setting for cube size but it makes the larger size cubes. I never used the small size on my other one. I also like the fact that you can get to the freezing apparatus a bit easier for cleaning when needed. Overall it’s a nice little ice maker. TIPS: when using this type of ice maker, fully expect the ice to melt slowly. The ice basket is NOT refrigerated. It sits over an ice bath that will chill after it’s been running for an hour or so. When you first turn it on, the ice cubes it makes will be very small as the water chills. Each successive batch that drops, about every 7 minutes or so, will get bigger as the water bath chills. I recommend dumping the first 3 or 4 drops of ice, back into the water reservoir. This will speed up the water chilling and make bigger ice cubes faster.

The Silonn Smart Countertop Ice Maker is a game-changer! It’s compact yet powerful, making it perfect for small kitchens, offices, or even RVs. I love the Wi-Fi app control, which lets me monitor and schedule ice-making from my phone. It produces 9 ice cubes quickly, so I never have to wait long for fresh ice. The design is sleek and doesn’t take up too much counter space. It’s also quiet and easy to clean. If you want a hassle-free way to always have ice on hand, this is a fantastic choice!

This countertop ice maker is a winner! Pros: * Perfect Ice: The ice cubes are just the right size, not too big and not too small. They're perfect for any drink. * Compact Design: It doesn't take up too much counter space, which is a big plus in my kitchen. * Quiet Operation: I can barely hear it running, which is great since it's in my living area. Cons: * None so far! Overall: This ice maker is exactly what I was looking for. It's compact, quiet, and makes great ice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a countertop ice maker.

Play Video Loved it to start but it broke after 4 months. When contacting customer service for a warranty exchange, they said they can’t exchange as it was discontinued and offered me 40% of the purchase price. I argued that their product didn’t meet the warranty and wanted and exchange but they refused.
