I scoured reviews of blanket after blanket and they were all the same including this one. Glowing reviews telling how they were the greatest thing on God’s green earth and negative reviews saying how they came apart, stopped heating, shriveled up or otherwise suffered some sort of untimely death. I decided to just pick the blanket with the simplest controller and this is the one I chose. There is a slight chemical odor when opening the package which I would have preferred to smell like strawberry ice cream, but it quickly dissipates. The blanket is thin and I’m fine with that. It means it will be a good summer blanket too. If you feel the blanket, you can feel the wires, but isn’t that the case with all electric blankets? It’s been the case with all electric blankets I have owned. I've had blankets where it felt like I was sleeping under a chain link fence. Somehow, I don’t notice the wires in this blanket when I go to bed, but of course I have a sheet between me and the blanket. There is no preheat feature, but I didn’t want one. Why would you need that. Just turn your blanket on and it heats up. This blanket gets very warm very fast. Admittedly, I didn’t go through and patiently try the different settings to see how much difference each setting would have, but I’m not looking for precision heat. I just crank it up to ten before going to bed and lower it to four or five when I go to bed and this system works for me. If you want to lose weight just leave it on ten all night. You'll wake up in a sweat and ten pounds lighter. If I had and issue it would be the controllers - two because I bought a queen. They are not exactly what I expected to get. One picture shows a little window in the dial with a number showing in the window. The controllers I got look the same minus the window. Instead the dial has an arrow painted on it which points to the numbers one through ten painted on the controller. A new picture, which I believe was added since I made my purchase, only shows up if you select the queen blanket in the mushroom color, (I really like the color), shows the controllers I got. All the other colors and sizes only show the controller with the window. Do the different size and color blankets actually have different controllers? Did I get old style controllers or a newer design? Are they eliminating the window to save three cents? Again, only the queen mushroom blanket shows the controller minus the window, but also shows the controller with the window. It in no way affects the operation of the blanket. I just don’t like ordering one thing and getting something that looks different. I like getting exactly what I ordered. If there had been completely different controllers I likely would have returned the blanket since the controller design is the reason I chose this blanket, but I can live without the little window. I really like that the controllers are so simple even though they are a little clunky sitting on the nightstand. I’ll likely end up fastening them down with Velcro or double stick tape or maybe hang them on hooks so the weight of the power cord isn’t able to pull them down to the floor. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of controllers out there made to properly sit and remain on your nightstand. Are you listening design engineers? With these controllers you just press a button to turn it on and twist the dial to the setting you want and your done. Very quickly the blanket is nice and toasty. I like being able to quickly twist that dial to the setting I want rather than having to press a button to cycle through the settings. The blanket will shut off automatically after ten hours or you can hit the button to turn it off. So far I’m pleased with the blanket. It’s simple to operate, provides good evenly distributed heat and there is only one electrical connection at the foot of the blanket. That electrical connection is at most only six inches from the foot of the blanket which means it’s out of the way and your feet aren’t feeling it. No doubt if it falls apart, stops heating or shrivels up it will be on the coldest night in the coming winter, but that’s what girlfriends are for. So far I’m warm and happy – in more ways than one.

This blanket is a perfect size for a queen size bed, not skimpy. It also stays in place beautifully and does not come untucked. Best of all, you begin to feel heat within 2 minutes if you are in the bed. The numbers actually are truly different from one another, so if you turn it down you definitely feel a difference. It's very soft, medium weight, appears to be very good quality, and the controls are white, which blends beautifully with our decor. In the dark you can identify the on/off button by feel. This is the third Sunbeam electric blanket I have bought, one was for a friend. I also own a Sunbeam electric mattress pad for a guest bed, which everyone loves. Quality is reliable at Sunbeam. The only negative on this blanket might be that the wires are not well buried, and they are palpable with your feet and knees, but it does not bother us.

I recently purchased a heated throw from Costco on a whim. I am notoriously cold and have worsening arthritis. I had planned to use it as a throw for my chair in the livingroon to give myself some extra warmth on chilly days. It is ultra soft and super warm, so I decided to try it between my sheet and blanket on my side of the bed. My husband is a hot box and does not require extra help with keeping warm. Must be nice! Anyway, I absolutely loved it, but it just wasn't big enough and was so soft and silky that it would just side all over the place. It also was really warm even on low and the heating was very uneven. Just fine for a throw, but not great for a good night's rest. So I decided tp get a queen size electric blanket for bed. What I was looking for was one that had two independent heating controls, so my husband could use his side as just a blanket if he wanted. I also wanted a quality blanket that could be used for years. I wanted good even heat throughout the blanket without hot or cold spots and a good soft material that would not be too soft as to slip and slide all over the bed. I first purchased a Westinghouse electric blanket with sherpa. As soon as I pulled it out, I could see that the quality was lacking as the wires were visible through the sherpa and it was definitely not likely to last. After packaging it back up and returning it, I resumed my research. One thing you need to realize is that your blanket should be sandwiched between your top sheet and a quilt, blanket or bedspread. Therefore, a silky soft touch is not only unnecessary, it can keep it from staying put. I found this blanket and hoped that it would be better than the Westinghouse. I did not disappoint. This blanket meets all of my requirements to a tee. Two separate controls for each side of the bed. Plenty of cord length to run under the bottom of the bed and plug into the wall and enough controller cord length to comfortably nestle in the side of the bed frame or place on the nightstand. Wnderful even heating all night long. It doesn't get too warm and there are no cold or hot spots at all. The material is high quality and should last for years. It is also soft, but not slippery so it stays put all night long. The controls have plenty of options for heat temperature and automatic shut off timer. The color was even perfect, I chose blue. There are plenty of blankets out there for more or less money. But the price of this blanket was very fair and worth every penny. If you are struggling to find your perfect blanket, you search is over!

I don't like the sparse distribution of wiring.... the middle section is bare and cold, the actual heating areas are narrow width. Otherwise, it heats well and controls are EASY to use. One star off because of skimpy wiring distribution for cost saving passed to us, the buyers.

I love this blanket. I ordered it because my old electric blanket stopped working. This blanket is super soft and it heats up really quickly so I only need to "pre-heat" my bed for about 15 minutes. It has a timer up to 12 hours so it keeps me toasty warm all night long. The settings vary from 1-12 (low to high) so it is perfect for chilly fall days to frigid winter nights. So far, it seems like it is high quality. It is lightweight and the wires aren't obtrusive. I bought this brand because my last blanket lasted over 7 years with daily, year round use.

Product looks and works well. Delivery was as per schedule. This product works on 110-120 Volts so one has to buy a 220V to 110V voltage converter for use in India. That additional cost should be considered when making purchase. The power connector is in the middle of the short side of the blanket. The wire length of the remote is short and inconvenient to use. Ideally the power connector should be in a corner and remote wire should be long enough for easy reach.
