M35 HSSCo is a high speed steel alloy made up of 5% cobalt. M35 is similar to M2, but with 5% cobalt added. · The addition of cobalt increases heat resistance. It is widely used in metal manufacturing because of its ability to resist wear over conventional high speed steels, allowing for shorter cycle times in production environments due to higher cutting speeds or from the increase in time between tool changes. Todd at Project Farm is right in his review of the TEMO spiral step bit. It is a very good bit for the money. The HSCO designation means that the bit is manufactured with high speed steel with cobalt added. The cobalt makes a BIG difference in the performance and the price. This TEMO spiral step bit manufactured with HSCO is a good product at a fair price. I have no regrets with having paid the price for a bit that is does the job effectively.

Unlike many of the cheap Chinese bits you can buy that are just total garbage and are not even sharp when they arrive at your door these bits are different, they are up to reasonably good standard without being exceedingly overly priced. These are the bits you want if you’re looking for the middle ground between the high-end bits and the ones that are so bad they’re painful to use

I bought this bit to drill holes in steel power poles when a mag drill isn't available and with lubrication it works very well. I would definitely purchase this again if I needed to.

This step drill makes it very easy to cut through the stainless steel.

This is the bit for homebrewers! So far, I've used it to drill holes for bulkheads into several stainless steel pots; as well as cutting holes for faucets in thicker 16 gauge stainless steel work tables. Make sure you use a good cutting oil like Tap Magic with it. I've probably drilled about 15 holes with it so far and it is as sharp as the day I bought it. My cheaper high speed steel step bits were useless on stainless steel after a couple of uses. This one continues to perform well.

I used this to drill through some stainless around 1/16th of an inch thick. It's some hard stainless, a bosch cobalt bit had no chance. However, I drilled a pilot with another bit and then put this step drill bit in the hole and it carved through the stainless like it was butter. Just unbelievably sharp and easy, I was elated.

Love this step drill. Should have bought one years ago. Drilled a variety of mild steel materials and saved me loads of time

I drilled several full width holes in 1/2" steel plate, no problemo. Very happy with this drill bit.
