I have a queen size "firm" posturepedic Plus Hybrid Sealy mattress and although it's an excellent mattress, I still experienced some loss in circulation and pressure on my hips and shoulders as a side sleeper. I had been planning on buying this mattress topper for about a month before purchasing. I watched a video of someone reviewing it outside of Amazon and I'd like to share some notes he stated that are true to this topper. If you want to watch that video, look up "Tempur adapt mattress topper review - the best pressure relief?" by Mattress Clarity. The video as if writing this review is 5 years old. For reference, I am 5'6", 107lbs and I'm bony. I sleep on my side but sometimes roll over onto my back during the night. I have osteoarthritis in my left hip and I've had a history of cervical nerve issues, which makes my left arm numb when I sleep wrong. Your mattress underneath has to be firm because this topper is SOFT. You probably don't want to be trapped inside your mattress if it's too soft. If your mattress is, for instance, 8 out of 10 on the firmness scale (10 being closer to that of a tabletop), then this topper will reduce that number to around 5. My mattress is soft in comparison to other brands, so there was a concern that this topper would make my bed too soft, but that hasn't been the case. When I first put this on top of my mattress, I was concerned my hips and especially my shoulders would poke through the foam and be touching the mattress. It might be two inches thick but I haven't actually done that. I'm well-padded. The softness is perfect for me. It did take a few nights for my body to adjust, as I was still waking up with sore hips, but after a month of sleeping on this combo, I wake up refreshed. I was concerned that I'd maybe need the 3 inch topper instead, but the 2 inches work perfectly fine. Maybe in the future when I might wear this one out, I'll get the 3inch. But for now, this works. I also love how, like the tempur-pedic mattress, it's motion isolating. I wouldn't trust that a glass of wine wouldn't topple over, like they used to demonstrate in old tempur-pedic commercials, because my Sealy mattress is a bit springy. So if you're expecting this to be perfectly motion isolating, I think it largely depends on your mattress. If you were like me and were concerned that this topper might shift around without mattress straps, it's ok because mine hasn't budged. However, I do not flop around much while I sleep, so I'm not sure if a flopper would experience the same thing I have been. The box came with a nice fitted sheet that keeps it in place. But for me, this topper has so much grip, I struggled getting it onto my mattress because it decided it didn't want to move. I would recommend someone else help you, especially if you have a queen or larger. But it is doable solo. Speaking of the fitted sheet, you might want to look into replacing the fitted sheet you already have with something with deeper pockets because this topper does heighten your bed. Deeper pockets or size up, like from queen to king. My Sealy is rounded at the edges and corners, so this topper sits somewhat awkwardly on top. My fitted sheet makes it look silly along the corners but the rest of my bedding covers it up, so it's not a big deal. There is minimal smell right out of the package. I didn't mind it at all. Once the topper was fresh on my mattress, everything felt incredibly soft. Too soft, almost, and yet it was weirdly a little more "firm" when the cover was put on. I liked this. It cemented the idea that this was worth buying. I couldn't access my package when it arrived because my work schedule clashes with my apartment's leasing office, so I couldn't get into the package room until my weekend started. So this topper was sitting in its packaging for several days. I was worried it wouldn't decompress. Luckily, it decompressed almost immediately by itself. I didn't need to do anything for it to spring into working order. As for my medical issues, I experienced some arthritic pain at first when going about my day, but that slowly disappeared. I've had zero issues with my cervical nerve to the point where I forget I even have that issue. I would recommend this tempur-pedic mattress topper to those who have similar features to me and for side sleepers. Larger builds will benefit from this as well, but if you're bigger, I'd suggest watching that video because the guy reviewing it is a bigger guy.

I have never in my life been pain free. The idea that one can sleep and there is no pain. The idea that one can wake and there is no pain. I have no concept of that. Now I do. I put this on top of a blended latex and spring mattress that has a bit of give at the shoulders. It is a wonderful mattress for back sleepers, but not side sleepers. This 2’ in topper makes it perfect. No more sunk-in shoulders. In addition, no smell out of the box. Fluffed up well. Seemed like it wouldn’t be much, but retains its cushioning. You are not sinking all the way through it. Overall, very happy. Hoping for good durability. We will see. It does run hot. It is winter now. So, I will try the cool one for Summer. I hope it is the same.

I saw this bed topper, it looked plush, it promised the moon (and maybe even a good night's sleep, which is basically the moon for me), and BAM! Clicked "buy" before my brain could engage. Then I read the reviews. Let's just say they weren't exactly singing its praises. I braced myself for a lumpy, deflated disaster. Honestly, I was picturing myself wrestling this thing back into the box, ready to write a scathing review fueled by pure sleep-deprived rage. But... (and this is a big "but") ...it's actually pretty darn good! It's comfortable, it's supportive, and I haven't woken up with that weird crick in my neck that I usually get. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's definitely not the epic fail the reviews made it out to be. Maybe I got lucky? Maybe the other reviewers were just having a bad day (or a bad sleep)? Whatever the reason, I'm sleeping soundly. So, if you're like me and sometimes buy things before doing your research, don't panic. This topper might just surprise you. Just maybe read the reviews before you click "buy" next time, okay? Learn from my mistakes, people! Full disclosure, I'm incredibly lazy so everything above is written using chat gpt but it is accurate! She took the words right out of my mouth ;)

I purchased a new (expensive!) mattress and experienced an increase in migraine and horrible sleep. The mattress was advertised as medium but was super firm-and unfortunately, I took the tags off and couldn’t exchange. I woke with tons of head pressure. I purchased this topper in desperation of a quick fix and had reservations due to the price. It worked and resolved my issues (phew!)! The only thing I would recommend is perhaps purchasing it directly from the manufacturer only due to the warranty. I read that purchasing from amazon voids the warranty. Overall, I’m thrilled… just hope it lasts!

Love this topper but its no good for an adjustable frame.. I so needed this kind of topper for my really sore back and hips, but it bunches up in my bed because I sleep sort of sitting up.. but its better than the rest I have purchased.. I love tempurpedic so I am hoping this helps in the long run ... update" wow... even with the bit that bunches up at my lower back I am soo comfy... a little over heated but just love this.. have changed rating to 5 star... now if I could only sleep..

I’ve had this mattress topper for 6 months now and I am very pleased with this purchase. It’s far superior to the other toppers I’ve purchased and is a great entry to Tempurpedic products. Extremely comfortable and I had no issues with odor as others have reported.
