This is a great thermos that works as advertised. I followed the advice of others and have been letting boiling water sit in the thermos before dumping that out and adding my hot food. I noticed this does actually help keep the food even warmer when I go to eat it for lunch which is about 5 hours later. My only complaint is the amount of parts that need to be cleaned - I don't have a dishwasher so it's a bit of a hassle to take off the gasket and other rubber piece and wash everything one by one. I've noticed other thermoses in stores since buying this that appear very easy to clean and have a wider mouth, but I don't regret buying the actual Thermos brand because it works so well.

Report it so I can take some soup and or hot food for lunch and it serves its purpose perfectly. I would recommend it holds one can of soup perfectly. I also like the fact that it comes with its own spoon.

I bought two of these for my nephews for middle school lunch time. Unlike other reviews, both thermos's arrived completely dent free. I followed advice from other reviewers and heat up the thermos with boiling water for about 5 minutes first. We then just dry it out before adding their lunch in it. So far they've used it three times and have taken pulled turkey, thanksgiving leftover casserole, and chinese food. Both boys say their food remains fresh & hot until lunch time at 12:30pm (we prep it at as early as 6:30am). The built in spoon is a great addition too making it super easy for them to enjoy their lunch. Both boys are ecstatic to use these daily. NO MORE GROSS SCHOOL LUNCHES FOR THESE GUYS.

Loaded up with beef veg. at 5:30am/31 degrees (f). Hot enough to burn still at noon. It's stored in cold truck until lunch. Zero leaks. So far, the durability is top notch. BF eats right out of the can with provided spoon, but the top is a perfect bowl if desired. After 35 years of onsite cold lunches and various failed products this one is the #*$@!

I purchased this to take soup on the go because of brand recognition and I like the size of it. The thermos arrived in perfect condition. The soup I put into it was still at warm eating temperature 6 hours later. The mouth is too narrow for chicken noodle soup to be eaten neatly from the container. Maybe if I had poured the soup into a bowl my meal would have been less messy. 4 stars because my personal purpose was not served well...but it keeps food hot and is likely excellent for other foods.

I also purchased the Thermos Stainless King 16oz food jar in matte red to send hot lunches to school with my other child. Like the blue one, this Thermos is excellent at retaining heat and keeping food steaming for 6+ hours. The durable stainless steel body does not leak, which is great. However, the rim is uncomfortably slim. My child struggles to spoon out thicker foods like chili or stew through the narrow opening. The folding spoon included also feels flimsy and bends easily while eating. That's not comfortable. While the Thermos does its main job of keeping food hot exceptionally well, the rim and spoon are poorly designed. The slim rim and bendy spoon make it tough for kids to conveniently eat from this jar. Overall, I can recommend this Thermos for keeping lunches hot for hours if you don't mind the frustrations of the rim and spoon. It excels at insulation, but falls short on ergonomics. If those issues don't bother you, it will get the lunch-keeping job done.
