The RE315 Range Extender has been a great addition to my home network setup. Setup was straightforward with the TP-Link Tether app, and the signal coverage has noticeably improved, especially in areas that previously had weak Wi-Fi. One small issue I encountered was occasional signal drops when switching between the extender and the main router, but it’s rare and usually resolves quickly. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the product—it delivers on performance and is a solid value for the price.

The TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extender is a solid and affordable option for expanding the range of your wireless network. Offering dual-band speeds up to 1200Mbps, it supports both 2.4GHz (up to 300Mbps) and 5GHz (up to 867Mbps), ensuring decent coverage and performance for a variety of devices, including streaming, gaming, and browsing. **Setup:** The setup process is easy and straightforward. The device supports a quick setup using the TP-Link Tether app or a web browser interface. The RE feature allows users to plug it into a power socket and simply press the WPS button on both the extender and the router for a seamless connection. **Performance:** The AC1200 provides a noticeable improvement in WiFi coverage. It successfully eliminates dead zones in larger homes or spaces where the router's signal struggles to reach. The dual-band functionality also helps minimize congestion on the network, with the 5GHz band offering faster speeds for devices that need higher bandwidth, such as smart TVs or gaming consoles. **Design:** The design is compact and user-friendly, with a set of LED indicators that display the signal strength, helping users find the optimal placement for the extender. It also has an Ethernet port for wired connections, which is great for devices that require a stable internet connection, like desktop PCs or gaming consoles. **Limitations:** While it works well for most tasks, the AC1200 might not provide ultra-fast speeds for high-demand applications, especially if you're in a densely populated area with many competing signals. Additionally, the extender needs to be placed within range of your router for the best performance, and its effectiveness can vary depending on the distance and obstacles between them. **Conclusion:** Overall, the TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extender is a great value for the price. It's easy to set up, performs well for general internet usage, and is a reliable option for boosting WiFi coverage in your home. It's an excellent choice for anyone looking to extend their WiFi signal without breaking the bank.

I recently picked up the TP-Link WiFi Extender (RE315 model) to tackle some dead zones in my home, and I’ve got to say, it’s been a solid addition to my setup. Setup was a breeze—I used the TP-Link Tether app, and it took maybe 10 minutes to get everything connected and running. The WPS button option is there too if you prefer a quicker sync with your router. I liked that it didn’t demand much fiddling; plug it in, follow the prompts, and you’re good. Performance-wise, it’s done exactly what I needed. My router’s signal was struggling to reach the far end of my house—think buffering Netflix and dropped video calls in the bedroom. Now, I’m getting steady bars on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, and streaming in 1080p is no issue. It’s not a speed demon (don’t expect miracles if your base internet is slow), but it’s reliable. The extender claims to cover up to 1500 sq. ft. and handle 30 devices, which seems about right—I’ve got phones, laptops, and a smart TV connected without any hiccups. One thing I appreciate is the Ethernet port. I plugged my desktop into it for a wired connection, and it’s been rock-solid for gaming. The design is compact enough, just a small box that plugs into the wall without taking up much space, though the bright LEDs can be a bit much at night if it’s in a bedroom. It’s not perfect, though. The range isn’t quite as expansive as I’d hoped—there’s still a slight drop-off in the farthest corners of my yard. And while the OneMesh feature is cool if you’ve got a compatible TP-Link router (it creates a seamless network), I don’t, so I’m juggling two network names. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note. For the price—around $30 when I bought it—it’s hard to complain. It’s a budget-friendly fix for spotty WiFi, and while it won’t replace a full mesh system for larger homes, it gets the job done for apartments or small houses. I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars: dependable, easy to use, and a great value, but don’t expect it to work miracles beyond its range. If your WiFi’s got gaps, this is worth a shot.

I purchased this TP-Link WiFi extender to improve coverage in my home, and overall, it does a great job. The setup was incredibly easy—just plug it in, follow the app instructions, and it connects seamlessly to my existing router. The signal boost is noticeable, and I now get better coverage in areas that previously had weak or no WiFi. However, I did notice a slight drop in speed compared to being directly connected to the main router. It’s not a dealbreaker, but if you're expecting full-speed performance, keep that in mind. Also, placement is key—if it's too far from the router, the signal strength diminishes. For the price, it’s a great solution to extend WiFi in dead zones. While it’s not perfect, it’s definitely worth considering if you need better coverage in certain parts of your home. Would recommend!

Setting up the extender is a breeze, and the reception has improved notably. I really like the one-mesh technology, eliminating the need to change networks at home.

After installing a brand new TP-Link AXE75 (AX5400) WiFi 6E wireless router, I will still getting weak spots in the some rooms. I was hoping this would fix the issues with my Linksys Atlas mesh wireless network, which had good range but devices kept binding to a weaker node and wasn't switching nodes seamlessly. After doing some research, I bought this TP-Link RE315 Range Extender because it could work with my router using TP-Link's OneMesh/EasyMesh system. I was a bit skeptical given my bad experience with the Linksys mesh system. Setup was incredibly simple, I plugged the RE315 into a power outlet that was more central in my home, on a different floor from router. Pressed the WPS buttons on both the router and range extender and after a couple of minutes, they paired and the RE315 extended my 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Using my router's web interface, I could see the RE315 as a "Mesh device". To test, I used my Pixel 6 and the WiFi Analyzer app on 5GHz network. With this phone on my previous Linksys Atlas mesh, it would bind to a node but wouldn't switch to the stronger node, even if I was 1 ft away from it. I had to turn off WiFi and turn it back on before it bound to nearest node. With my TP-Link EasyMesh setup, I could see my Pixel 6 was connected to the AXE75 router. As a moved downstairs and was a few feet away from RE315, I saw the connection switch to the range extender. It was completely seamless and I didn't lose the WiFi network, it just switched. With WiFi Analyzer, I could tell which network device I was connected to based on Mac address and IP. Onto an Internet speed test. Connected upstairs to AXE75, I was getting 600 Mbps down, 300 Mbps up on and 1Gbps Internet. Connected to the RE315, I was only getting 90 Mbps down, 60 Mbps up, which seems slow but I was expecting that with range extender as half the bandwidth is connecting to the main router, while other half is for clients. This is also a WiFi 5 AC1200 ranger extender, compared to my WiFi 6E AX router. So I was pleased with this performance since the area I was getting the dead spots in, I was now seeing full strength with good speeds, which is much better than dropped connections I was getting not using the range extender, or with my previous Linksys Atlas mesh.
