Over the years I have bought numerous sharpening devices. Most of the worked okay - just okay. This set gives me the perfect edge every time. More importantly, no issues setting it up, using it or storing it.

It’s very easy to use and gets your knives sharp very fast. After the initial 10 or so minutes of sharpening when you first hone the blade, all it takes is 1 or 2 minutes each side thereafter to sharpen it again to retain your knives’ edge. Use it before chopping lots of food and you’ll have a good time cutting. However, I’ve had the Tumblr for a year now and the only complaint I have is the mechanism has gotten loud. It makes a very loud rubbery grinding noise and it’s distracting. Furthermore, the rolling wheels themselves seem to have gotten more friction. Not sure why this is but I cannot fix it. It’s also not possible to open the Tumblr and perform your own maintenance. Disappointed with the maintenance experience, but happy with the ease of use. My Tumblr still works and sharpens my knives well, but using it after a year now has more friction!

Fast and easy way to sharpen any knife! It’s really easy to use too. I have a a couple ways to sharpen knives and this is by far my favorite so far. $139 (total after shipping) may seem steep but it’s honestly worth it in order to ensure your sharp knives especially in the kitchen.

Works really well, made my knife sharper. I recommend putting down paper before starting, the dust from the knife stain.

This item is not my go to sharpener. It’s difficult to use because of lack of stability and knives very in size . It’s difficult to looks attractive in the video but isn’t as simple as it appears

This sharpener works great for knives with a 15 or 20 degree angle. just a few minutes and your knives will have a like new super sharp edge. A bit pricey but well worth the cost.

Been through a lot of cheap sharpeners and decided to spend some money this time. No regrets. This sharpener is great! Very easy to use too.

Worked great out of the box. A couple of months later the rolling action was noticeably stiffer. Just took it out again to sharpen a knife and it’s worse. Practically unusable. I was using it on an expensive knife and because of the extra pressure I had to use it slipped and scraped along side of the knife wreaking the black finish. The return window closed after three months but it takes that long to realize the bearings seize up. Don’t waste your money.

I have bought a few different knife sharpeners and used them all, each one of a different type. There's really many ways to go for sharpening your knife. Each providing a step up in sharpness, but also a step up in complexity to use (both in skill and time it takes to sharpen). -Honing rod (not exactly a sharpener but does make it "sharper" in a way) -Sharpeners with a v ceramic in which you pull -Rolling sharpeners -Belt sharpeners -Rod based sharpeners -Whetstones I think the nice middle ground for most people is either rolling sharpeners or belt sharpeners. I bought this really because sharpening with this is really simple, it takes barely any longer than the ceramic sharpeners and does a considerably better job. I think though, there are some big limitations... -For one, the magnet (that holds the knife) works great for wide knifes, such as chefs knifes... but is too tall to work for smaller knifes, such as utility knifes. >>Having a second smaller magnet as well would solve this. -There is only 1 single grit and a honing side. This works well for general maintenance, but if you have a heavily damaged knife it will take longer to sharpen and because there's no fine grit, you won't get that razor edge. >>Having a course and fine grit and a strop would be better... Or offering sharpeners with varying grits. These are the limitations of most rolling sharpeners out there... the next step up of using a belt sander, though can be found in compact sizes, it a little less "friendly" to use and wouldn't recommend it to everyone. Specially if you have a knife with a nice finish and worry about scuffing it.
